| Scooter sleeps with me. He actually likes to get under the covers and nestle in. He does have a dog bed in my bedroom which he sometimes chooses but will always come up to my big bed in the end. I have very sturdy pet stairs next to my bed so he can come and go as he pleases without risking injury. I am glad to see that so many others sleep with their babies.

| Funny you should ask this. We've had our Yorkie exactly one week and she did well in bed with us every single night... but not last night. She woke up about three and woke me up to go potty so i took her. Then back to bed. I get up for work around 430am. She had wet on the blanket. (on my husband's side thank God).. Now what to do... We have to crate her through the day while we work so we didn't want to crate her at night.. but she can't pee on the bed either... oh what to do... still love her anyway |

| Rocky sleeps with me, never a problem, we developed a system where I dont crush him, so that when I switch pillows he witches sides as well and leans against my back with his. I love him, he is so small, how can I leave him on the floor overnight?? |

Wow!! How did you train him to do that? My Lola holds herself until we take her out (every 3-4 hours) and sometimes holds it through the night, but my issue is if she needs to pee before we take her out (she drank more water than usual) then she never realizes to go back to her x-pen and pee on the pad, even though when she is in there she knows to pee on it. I wish I could have her sleep with us, but my fear of her peeing in bed is so great. | |

I have NO idea how i trained him to do that. Pasquale ever since he was a baby would NEVER pee on carpet ...and we have carpet everywhere except the kitchen and bathrooms. So i would put a pee pee pad in the downstairs bathroom and pee pee pads in the upstairs bathroom......he never pee'd in the kitchen cause his food was there. The weird thing about him is...you cant be IN the bathroom with him(he waits til we're in the shower or he runs to the downstairs bathroom) ...OR looking at him. He wants to pee alone..........although he ALWAYS has to be in the bathroom when i'm going...

| YT 1000 Club Member | Roxie started out in the kennal in our room but it didn't last long. She got really sick and I wouldn't let her out of my sight. She would hack and choke all night. She loves bedtime, she loves on us both and snuggles and falls asleep. Some nights she's a little more picky about it all. Trying to find the right spot, digging here and there and finally lays down and lets out a big sigh.

| Maggie sleeps with us. She really snuggles up too. Both of our Yorkies have slept with us since the day we got them. Our 5 yr old Yorkie Ginger now sleeps with our 6 yr old son. Last edited by sganow; 06-25-2009 at 11:28 AM. |

| Shayna sleeps with us and has since 3 mo and me trying the crate, playpen, and anything, even our mini bull, to get her to sleep. Finally I put her in bed with me and DH, and now she sleeps through the nights (most). I figured I'd rather wake to a lick in the face the a whine and bark from the other room. Though my DH would prefer she sleep somewhere else, so far the girls are winning. The only problem is that I used to sleep till 8-9am I'm now up by no later than 7am. They do make great alarm clocks. |

| Awe... I love hearing about all the yorkies in beds and under covers. IMO that is where they belong Copper doesn't really like to sleep with me all the time we crate trained him first and now he prefers that. He turns into a grumpy old man at bed time and heads straight for the crate. But my sweet little Maddie either sleeps under the covers beside me (between my neck and shoulder) or if it is a warm night she sleeps in the small of my back I don't really know why but that is her fave spot, and it doesn't worry me because I don't move at night. There is nothing better than waking up to a tiny dancing yorkie on your back in the morning, or gently pawing at your face

| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I think it's healthier for them to sleep with you! My yorkie ages are 9 and 11 years and neither one of them have arthritis, but one of my friends has a 12 year old yorkie and she always made him sleep on the floor and he has arthritis really bad and I think that may be a contributing factor. When Chip and Sophie where babies I would put them up by my head on top of a little baby blanket to I wouldn't accidently roll over on them in the middle of the night, but as they got bigger they eventually migrated to the middle of the bed. That's just my two cents.... Last edited by Yorkie4luv; 06-25-2009 at 08:35 PM. |

| I feel so much better knowing that all of you share beds with your furbutts!! Roxy comes home tomorrow (YAY) and we will see how she does, hopefully I wont wake up to a wet bed lol. Should I take her out in the middle of the night as a precaution or wait to see if she wakes me up??

| We were lucky in that Ramsey slept through the night from the very first day we brought him home. He has never woken me up to go out, but I don't let him down off of the bed until I'm ready to take him out. I pick him up and carry him outside and he goes immediately. |
