| Confused Hi, I was in Walgreens yesterday with Bella and this lady insisted Bella looked so much like her yorkie/silky mix...it was getting quite annoying because she kept insisting...after all the annoyance it had me really reading and researching last nite...is it possible she could be a mixed breed??? I'm at work and cant post more pics of her until i reach home..her paperwork is said to be purbreed yorkie...she is 20 months and 7lbs and 10 oz as of last week. |

| If you search in the General Discussion forum, you will find hundreds of posts from people who have been through the same thing. My best advice, don't let it get to you. Your pup looks all Yorkie to me!!

| I doubt shes a silky mix. My groomer also told me my Chachi looked like a silky and My Jewels looks like a yorkie(shes smaller, hes over the standard) They have the same father and I saw his mother and she was a yorkie. You dont know how many times just on here where Ive heard that someones been told their dog they thought was a yorkie is a silky. And its usually because they are over the standard. There are plenty of bigger yorkies too though

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Yorkies and Silkies do look similar so people are often mistaken. Without a picture it's hard to really give an opinion. Silkies generally tend to have a broader muzzle, and are bigger than yorkies.

| Why paying so much attention about what peoples say ? 7 lbs 10 oz is not very big for a Yorkies . As a breeder my yorkies are between 5 to 7 lbs and will not go under this weight because love to let go their blabber mouths . |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Did this woman have credentials that made her an expert? Sounds like she is the one confused. One person's opinion doesn't change what you know about your dog. Some people just love to be an 'expert' on everything, but that doesn't make it so. Forget it & continue to love/enjoy your yorkie.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | A lot of people believe that the only difference between the two breeds is size and that's what causes them to suggest a larger yorkie is actually a silky.

| Perhaps her yorky/silky mix looks more yorkie than silky and that's why your dog looks like hers. My first little dog was a yorkie/chi and he looked just like a yorkie, try not to let other people get to you, it's not worth the hassle. |
