As sad as it sounds, I don't think there really is anything to do in this instance. But there are lots of other dogs in reputable Rescues that need help just as much as this pregnant Yorkie. Unless she is depriving them of food and water, or flat out beating them, there is no law that protects against ignorant breeding. To give her any amount of money is to perpetuate the problem by making her "business" successful. She keeps letting them breed because it is financially beneficial to her. To stop it, you have to stop the money coming to her. I think she may have overshot on this one as her female does not look like a full yorkie and I am not sure she will find anyone willing to put over a thousand dollars into her knowing she is going to cost a lot more in vet expenses. Maybe this will at least make her fed up and stop doing it. I know that does not help this poor girl, but there are others that can be helped in her name.

If someone does go visit the home and finds a situation that can be reported as breaking a law, that will be a different story. Few of us are near enough to do something like that. So, what can we do? Today, make a small first step. Whether it be a donation, a rescue, a march, a letter writing campaign, reporting a known puppymill, whatever ideas you may have. I think the important thing is to go ahead and make some sort of action towards helping the problem, no matter how big or small. If everyone does one small thing, it becomes a movement.

I live 10 minutes from my own animal shelter. I want to go and donate some time. But I need to know, if you volunteer, are you there when animals are put to sleep when not adopted? Please be honest with me. I simply sound crazy here but I could not donate 5 minutes if I had to be there when this is done.
I lost my 20 yr old son 7 years ago. I mentally could not handle that if I volunteered in the shelter. Too much death. I'm sure it affects everyone, but for me it is a severe sensitivity. And I just need to be sure.

2nd..... WTF....why would you take a picture of two dogs tying???? And then post it in a for sale ad???? There is something seriously wrong with her. Makes me want to throw-up..literally.

You really have a point about the tying picture. That has really bothered me. Not that it was pornograghic or anything because it was really proof of nothing but two dogs close together. But why WOULD someone do that? She obviously thinks the pregnancy will be in doubt, why? Makes me wonder if there is a pregnancy at all. She can't really know this early, and we all know dogs CAN tie without a resulting pregnancy. So, what does she think she is proving by this picture? Very odd!

found out i was close and wanted to visit she said it would upset her other animals and she just couldnt chance that now with her preg. one but she would meet me somewhere to view the dog if i wanted. this is strange. she would not give her address either. as i said i could meet her at her place outside. so what now? what should one think? and you are right i believe that someone may be viewing this site even her who knows as she sure acted strange. she told me 1000.00 cash. she didnt ask a thing about me if i was a puppy mill or breeder so so much for looking for a good home.

First of all, my sincere condolences. 3 of my closest friends are going through the same thing right now and I just can not imagine that sort of grief.
Second, I think that if you volunteer, then the sad part is part of the job description but I can't say for sure. I know if I were you, I wouldn't want any part of it but I can see why you'd want to volunteer. It's such a good thing to do. If I weren't allergic to most dogs n cats, I would volunteer also.

I don't know so much if she is lurking on this website as it is that she is just plain shady. She doesn't want you at her home probably because of the conditions of the home, animals and who knows what else... we need some good detective work to find out where she lives so you can go by and see...

I wouldn't doubt she read my post where I said that Animal Control said the only way they could do anything is if there was neglect, and poor living conditions. This is probably why she doesn't want anyone coming to her home. She did tell me the area she lives in (696 & Hoover...for those familiar with the area). Oh, btw, she also offered to meet me somewhere rather than come to her home. I tried calling back yesterday but I didn't get through.

Good idea!! Too bad I don't live closer I'd have DH make up a tracker that's magnetic and can be slapped on the bottom of her car. Then you could track her for days.

wow someone should have been a detective. i can do this .but i also have not been able to get through to her again yet. i was going to just meet her and see what this baby looked like and if she was ok. even if i could afford to purchase her and upcoming vet bills ,this will not solve the problem she will be encouraged to sell more and breed more so really she needs to have a agency out to investigate this situation. if i get a hold of her i will try to meet tomorrow i have others willing to go along and could follow also.

If the lady 30 Min away would want to help but is just not finacially able then can't we all get togeather and try to help this many people just give a little and we Might be able to help I would find a way I'm just too far away

Hello, this post is a month old. She probably already had her puppies or was sold. And welcome to YT!!

this is sooooo sad th poor wee thing tou just want to give her a cuddle, if this (i would say lady but she's not) wants rid of this wee pet soo desperatly why does'nt she just give her to someone then they would be able to afford the c section and give this wee one a great home for by, looks to me like no matter what even if it means this wee dogs life she's just in it for the money. money is'nt everything this wee dogs life means more than that :cry:
