| Hi everyone! Newbie here! Hello, my name is Sina. I am from Kentucky and am a brand new yorkie mom(almost). Our baby will be 7 weeks old tomorrow and we will be picking her up hopefully next weekend if everything goes as planned. Her name is Izzy. We are so excited to get to know you all and to learn more ways to properly care for our new baby. |

| Welcome to YT. I know you're really excited. One word of caution though. Yorkies need a little longer with their moms and littermates than most breeds. You might talk to the breeder about waiting just a little longer. The rule of thumb is 12 weeks. I have heard of pups being ready sooner, but not by more than a week or two. It's not weaning that's the issue, it's socialization. This is an important time for pups, and they still have a lot of things to learn that are best learned with mom. Those last few weeks are the hardest to wait. Our breeder let us visit about once a week and that helped. I would at least talk to your breeder about it. Do you have a photo? We LOVE photos here!

| Welcome to YT! I agree with Judy on thjis subject! It's so imporatant that they get that few extra weeks with their mommy! It's murder waiting for the coming home day...but it is so worth getting a well rounded emotional baby!
