| new member Hello everyone, I'm the mother of my first yorkie, Zoey. I need some help with bathing and grooming. How often should I bathe her and recommendations for shampoo and conditioner? She's 6 months old & currently has the puppy cut which I intend to keep. Thanking you in advance. Judy |

| Hi and welcome. Its usually recommended that you bathe your baby about every two weeks. Once a week will dry their skin out, but as we all know, sometimes its necessary. Some opt for once a month, but I think that the babies get uncomfortable, and stinky if you wait that long. Our Zig is about 5 months and we go for Tearless Shampoos, the flea and tick scare me since he's so young. Oh, and don't forget to brush her as often as possible. We try to do it every couple of days, because if we did it everyday, he would riot. Hope this helps.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Hi, and welcome to YT! I use a puppy shampoo on the head of my baby, and the Coat Handler brand shampoo and conditioner on her body. She is almost 6 m.o. I take her to the groomer's once in 5 weeks, and bathe her once in between groomings. She doesn't go outside much, so she is kept pretty clean in between her baths. I think I'm actually gonna wash her today.

| Welcome to YT! I bathe Scooter about every other week. I like the puppy cut, just like you. It is really hot here most of the time so the puppy cut really keeps him cool. His hair grows way faster than mine so he gets a hair cut about once a month at this point. With his hair being short, I use a 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner from Petsmart. Nothing special but it does the job. I also like to have puppy wet wipes on hand for quick clean-up. For example, if it gets muddy outside or he gets in the bushes, I take out a wet wipe and within seconds he is clean again. Wet wipes are also good for cleaning their rears when they need help. You may also want to get the wipes for eyes. Scooters eyes water and make tear stains. The little pads are perfect and sensitive enough for them. I use them maybe once a week.

| Welcome! I give a bath every 1-2weeks, depending on how dirty she gets when she plays on the grass. I'm currently using Mink Sheen and like it so far...
