Question for those with lighter-colored yorkies

Your Thor is adorable and all yorkie. I don't know how old he is but, that platinum on the top of his head should go gold on you. That is if he's fairly young.

My line has that trait....from black, to platinum to gold.....usually about 2 years of age.

The color on his body is a beautiful "light" shade of (and this is in the eyes of the beholder) blue. He does have beautiful shine to his coat that reflects light, so he's pure silk.

Is this the case with other blonde yorkies, or is each hair actually grey? I'm wondering if this is a sign of a maltese lurking back there somewhere.

He's completely darling either way and of course I love him with all my heart. I guess it's something that will always nag at me a bit, unless I do a genetic test, but it seems like even then, it seems like people can get false negatives. Anyway, just wondering.

Don't worry too much... my baby is very light gray with beige face in little tan around his mussle...and I got him from a pure bred breeder...but beside the coloring he's very yorkie and he's two now the coloring hasn't change one bit. Our babies are just what the call a blondie

Thank you! He is almost 3, so I think he's pretty set in his ways, coloring-wise. I got all excited a few months ago because his chest went bronze, but then he decided to go back to apricot. His coat is incredibly shiny and pretty much never matts.
