| A real Newbie Hello everyone, I just flew home to the States after years living abroad. I came with my 4 1/2 month Yorkie, Mokey Fraggle. I have always made fun of men with little dogs until I met Mokey's mom who I came to love and had to leave. Mokey has become my best friend and her transition has been amazing. I have been looking through the forums and can see that there is a wealth of information here so thanks in advance. By the way I am also an Administrator of a Computer Help Forum for those of you that may run into problems but will not post the site here or in my signature without the permission of the Administrator since I do not want to have anyone think that is my purpose for being here. I am pretty savvy when it comes to dogs in general but am useless when it comes things like grooming. One thing I do know is that I will never want the "show look" for her and will be looking for tips on keeping the puppy look. |

| Hi! Welcome Home to America & Welcome to YT. The best way to keep that puppy look is to keep them in a puppy cut. If you don't do your own grooming, hopefully someone here will post of a good groomer in your area. Would strongly advise you stay away from Petco or Petsmart for the grooming. There is the rare good groomer there, but far more horror stories then good ones from those 2 places. Too bad you aren't in the Dallas, TX area, I could recommend a great groomer. Would love to see pictures and hear more about your cutie-pie.

| Welcome! Don't feel bad about being a man with a small dog, my hubby felt the same way but fell in LOVE with Allie. My father was the same way (he is a large man; Air Force Retiree), but he fell in love with my mother's small rat terrier.

| First of all THANK YOU for serving our country. 2nd welcome to Yt. My hubby was the same as you when we got our first yorkie. I was teasing him just the other day because now he talks about and brags more about our babies than I do.
