| Help with my baby I have a Yorkie that I bought 3 months ago from a breeder. She is 45 days pregnant. Last night she started acting weird... Shaking... some mild contractions... just not herself. I stayed up with her all night., thinking she might be going into labor. I took her to the vet this morning and found out she has 4 pups with heartbeats and one that is dead... The vet said to take her home and see if the others can make it, or abort them all..... WHAT DO I DO?????? |

| hmmmm.... I do not know, but that doesn't sound right Maybe seek a 2nd opinion. I can't imagine leaving a dead pup inside being good |

| I would have to go looking for where I saw it but have done so much reading as we just had our litter but I did just recently read that they can absorb puppies quite late in the pregnancy. I wonder if this is possiblly what may be happening. I am thinking I would not abort them unless the vet thinks your female is in some kind of danger. She may carry the rest of the pregnancy or they may come early. You may lose them but possible you may be able to save some. I know, not much help, just running through my thoughts... Kim
