i have also heard that male pups bond better with female owners... the biggest reason i have a male is because he was so much cheaper... i can't even believe i paid so much for him, but he was worth every penny! i had a dream before i got my little man that i was going to get a girl puppy, but when i went to the breeders, the girls were just more money. so i got a boy. if you can't decide, let your wallet decide for you, that is what i did!

I like girls. They don't lift their leg or 'mark their territory'. My best luck has always been with girl dogs. I currently have 5 girl dogs ranging from my 6 lb Yorkie pup to my 117 lb Shepherd/Chow mix. They all get along great. I say girl.

well i dont live in a apartment BUT i have a little boy and i love him to death. when we are playing he can get a little fiesty but other then that he's my little baby. he didnt mark or hump at all before we got him fixed either. i also have a german shepard girl and they get along great. although she can get moody at times. i personally dont mind either male or female.

I chose a female, and she humps her soft toys! She marks too.... I don't think it's true that females bond better with men, and vice versa, because my Milly doesn't ever leave my side, and my friends say they've never seen a dog more devoted to its human Perhaps if I lived with a man she might have migrated more towards him, but as it's just me, we have developed an incredibly close bond.I did read that female Yorkies tend to be the more watchful (and therefore the more vocal) sex, and this is possibly true. My little girl thinks she is a guard puppy!

Neutering young will usually stop the marking and the humping. Boys are lovers and sweet and "velcro". They live to love you. A female is more independent, and moody. I am male crazy! I Love my Girls, but oh.. them boys!!
