| ![]() While I can't see your boarding facility options, my guy loves going. I work full time and I don't have as much time as I wish during the week to play with Scooter. Since he is an only dog, I take him to daycare 2 or 3 times a week. The place is great. They take him out for play with other similar sized dogs at least 5 times a day and then pens they stay in when they aren't outside are the size of my bathroom. He gets playtime (outside with other dogs) and personal space (private pen) for $18/day. I have had to travel for work and couldn't take Scooter with me. The daycare he goes to offers boarding for an extra $7. He has boarded multiple times and loves it. They take really good care of him. One of the Vet Techs from our vet does pet sitting so she will check in on Scooter while I am at work on days that he doesn't go to daycare. I personally do not believe crating for long periods is fair. Scooter is potty trained and has proven he can have the run of the house without issue. Long story short, I think boarding your babies is your best option. They will have tons of fun and you can trust that the people working at the facility know what the are doing, otherwise they would not be in business. Take your babies beds and a chew-safe toy so they are more comfortable. Boarding is way better for your babies when compared to leaving them in a hotel room for hours unattended.

| ![]() I don't like leaving my babies alone in hotel rooms, you never know who has a key...just makes me nervous. I would worry about the barking too. You are leaving at night when other guests may want to sleep, if your dogs are keeping people awake, what will the hotel staff do? I think, in this situation, the best might be a kennel. Of course, you could put them in a kennel in the town you are traveling to, that way you might be able to shorten their stay and keep them with you longer. Or do an internet search for dog sitters in that area. Maybe someone could help.

| ![]() (Have not read all the above responses.) Last week my yorkie stayed 2 times in a hotel room while I attended weddings. I put her in a crate (which she loves) and turned up the TV volume. She did bark and cry a bit because she did not like being left in the hotel room, but the noise did not dirturb anyone outside the room. Next time I will leave her overnight at our favorite doggy daycare; Traveling is just too stressful for London. |
