| Doing your own grooming I haven't found any groomers around here, maybe just a few but I have not seen their work or had any feedback, I had a yorki poo before and I would take her to petsmart. After one certain visit when they refused to give me the cut I WANTED and I was PAYING FOR, I took my dog and left, never 2 return again! We then started to groom her ourselves at home. Now with Stormy, she came here with a very short cut. I let it grow and it was getting nice but then the vets groomer shaved her down It was very short on the face and for some reason the body hair was longer then the head hair and I hated it, so we shaved her body down. Now it's been two months almost since she had all her hair cut by the vet. Her face/head hair is starting to get longer, I am getting so excited! But should I "trim" the hairs? Would that make it grow faster? Before it took about 6 months for it to get long, it was just about the length I wanted it, not super super long. I am expecting by Christmas it would be the length I want, but not sure if I should just not cut it at all or trim it every so often. |

| I groom mine myself, mostly because I like it and it's much cheaper. I would just trim the hair every so often to remove the dead tips. Other than that, just let it grow. I tried some different hairstyles with Cash and now we are letting it all grow long. I clipped his leg hair once and I used to keep his face short, but now everything is growing. Good luck.

| With DH losing his job, and having 6 yorkies to groom , I'm really starting to think I need to groom myself to save those hard to come by $$. My question, how about the hygiene cuts? I have male and female babies, but just not sure about their little private areas. Any tips would be appreciated.

| Hehe, this might get a bit explicit, but I will try to explain For Cash, I cut most of the hair off his pee-pee. Not all of it, but most. I leave about 1cm of hair. For June, I just trim the hair on her thingy . For the bum area, I lift up the tail and trim a circle of hair around the anus. I try to cut it as short as possible. I use scissors for all of this since shaving could hurt them. Mind you, I don't know if I am doing it correctly, but it works for us. Good luck. Ps. Sorry to hear that things are tough. Luckily, YT is free

♥Tiny Tia my Furbaby♥ Donating Member | I LOVE grooming Tia myself , she is 11 mths old and I would NEVER take her to the groomers. Don't get me wrong I have never had a bad experience, I just don't trust any one enough. I would have missed out on so much fun too! From a pup she has quite easily layed across my lap while I snip away at her hair. Ok it doesn't always come out brill but hey , she trusts me and I can always stick an outfit on her until it grows lol. Seriously I enjoy Sunday evenings.Hair and nails/ ears/ eyes night.I call it girly night.

Thanks, might need an extra pair of hands, but I think I'll give it a try!

| Self-Grooming Ever since Bogey went to two different groomers & I hated what they did, I decided I could do better than them. I just tackle a few things at a time. Ears & feet or poo hole & underside. They both stay perfectly still while I work with small scissors and are beautiful when I get finished!
