YorkieTalk Newbie! | My First YT My Name is Katie and I am in the process of buying my first yorkie "Smith Jarrett". I am really nervous about it though . Can anyone help by answering my questions? If he is CKC registered does that mean he isnt purebread? Does all puppies get sick when you first get them? what should I ask the breeder or look for when I go to pick him up? He is soo adorable.Thank You. |

This may help with questions for the breeder - http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ead-first.html The puppy generally should not get sick when you first get them, but Nutracal is good to have just in case they have an energy drop (hypoglycemic symptom).

| No, they should not be sick when coming to you. Yorkies are not china. They should come to you healthy. If they are being shipped, or a bit frightened and not eating, then it is important to keep an eye out for hypoglycemia..other than that, if your dog is sick ~ it is not a good thing. As far as the different registrations, there are many. AKC is what is widely known and trusted. AKC has stiffer rules as far as registering a dog... Have you gone to the home to see the puppy? Were the parents there? Gee...I could go on and on with questions...
