| She hates her collar She is acting so weird about her collarShe wont play or run when she has it on. Her energetic bursts are gone... She will barely walk she mostly just sits there and looks at me and I know she is pouting because she hates the stupid thing. I only have the collar for ID purposes, and never would I attach a leash to it. (I have a harness for that, when the time comes) It isnt too tight at all, maybe a little looser than it should be, I just wanted her to get used to it. Its lightweight and her ID tag is very small and lightweight too. I always supervise her, and when she goes to bed I take it off. This is only Day 2 with the collar, will she get back to normal??? I feel so bad, but I dont want to take it off and have to go thru this all again.... Any ideas?

| It is something different to her. She will be fine. Mine scratched their collars for a little while and acted strange but they were fine after a day or so. They need their i.d.'s on at all times in my opinion. There are new threads on here almost everyday about lost yorkies, and alot of the time, they didn't have a tag on for 1 reason or another. Your baby will be fine

| maybe you should just put the harness with the identification tags on it. Sadie hates having a collar on - and it's really not good for their little tracheas to have collars on.

| I put a collar on Mika when I 1st got him and it took about a week before he accepted it. After reading on YT that collars aren't really good for Yorkies I decided to remove his collar and I only use a harness now. Is your dog Microchipped? If he gets lost he can be traced with this method.

| I live in a small town where microchips would be pointless. They put them in here but the pound doesnt even have a microchip detector... Anyway, I didnt think they were bad for them if you didnt use a leash or leave them unsupervised...

| Your probably right but Mika runs about like crazy and I can't always watch him as my dogs are free to go in and out to play so I choose no collar on him.

| Ranger absolutely despises his collar also. He has even gotten to the point where he has bit and scrateched it so much that the nylon is wearing away. He looks at me like, "Why are you doing this to me mom?" So i just let him wear it in spurts. if we are outside playing, i'll put it on him, but when he is sleeping or just inside playing, I feel there is no reason he needs to wear it.

| Maxwell just has a harness with his tags that he now loves, but he chewed through 4 of them before he matured enough to leave it alone. |

| Perhaps the material of the collar is what's bugging her. I've always had good luck with the rolled leather ones. Also, the rolled ones don't seem to get tangled in their hair as easily.

YT 1000 Club Member | Roxie doesn't wear her collar much in the house. When I grab the collar to put it on she stands perfectly still. She relates it to going someplace like a walk or a ride. She loves to go with us and knows she has to have it on to leave the house. They figure it out eventually. It's really amazing how fast they pick things up!
