Any updates on this story? |
I asked the same, I hope she replies. |
Maybe she's following leads with the links to people that have lost Yorkies in her area. There are so many, it's sad. |
First off, I not only have to thank all of you, I have to commend you. Your compassion is beyond amazing and you have all been a great example of amazing compassion. I followed up on all of the leads on CL and even some on the pennysaverusa.com. I searched for "LOST" posters and did not find any. I have followed up with all of the local shelters and human society's and it seems like no one is looking for this little guy. Because of the overpopulation of dogs in Los Angeles County, the procedure for finding a dog is pretty simple and any dog owner knows that the first thing to do is go to the local shelters. I was thinking about going to local vets and groomers as suggested, I am just really afraid of fraud. Since this little guy is full-grown at 4.3 pounds, he is perfect for breeders that want to make a quick buck. I'm so afraid of giving him to someone that is not going to care for him the right way since he has already been through a lot. His spirits seem to be up. He does a little dance when I come into the room and he is eating and drinking. He hasn't pooped since late Thursday and that really worries me, but I am assuming that the change in food has been hard on his system. I am looking into it. He also has some really bad breath. The vet looked at his teeth, but he didn't mention anything about having bad teeth. They look to have a lot of build up, so maybe thats why his breath stinks. He also sleeps a lot. I have never had a yorkie, so I am not sure how much these guys sleep. I thought maybe it was because he is sad?? Monday will mark a week that I have been fostering this little guy. If I don't see anything "LOST" posters by that day then I think I have no choice but to make "FOUND" posters. I just hope that making those kind of posters is not going to attract evil people that just use these little guys. I am really worried and just want to do the very best for him. Once again, thank you so much for your advice and kind words...I really admire you. |
wow if you were not so far from me i would say that was Yoshi but he is microchip. |
Why not call your local police and fire departmnts in your immediate area. I would be careful with stating he's a yorkie, there are so many thieving people out there. I would state "Found Dog, 2 yrs old, small, and scope out any calls carefully. We had a 5 pound, mixed pup come into our yard last summer, he jumped on my mother in laws lap with her cats toy and wantd to have her throw it. I would have kept him but the dog did not like large dogs (I had 2 at the time), I took her to a 24 hour vet who scanned for micro-chip, we located her former owner, who said she had put put the dog up for adoption, a local couple had her, The husband got tired of the dog so he let it go. To make long story short, it was adopted by the vet tech through the best wishes of the family of the former owner that very night, GOOD PART: the man in his 70's had died just a few months earlier, the dog never left his side for the last part of his life--he was in a coma. Now there was loyalty which only love could have created. |

still no news? I hope she will come back on here and give us some kind of update |
I really hope she does find the owners :( |
I think it is possible that the owners aren't looking. Like the yorkie who showed up on someone's doorstep a few months ago, and it turned out that it belonged to an older woman with dementia who had gone to a nursing home. The OP gave us an update yesterday and it sounds like she is doing all she can. To the OP - it's possible his breath is bad because he still has some baby teeth holding on. If you end up keeping him, you will want to get those removed. Thank you again for taking care of this little guy, and please keep us posted. :) |
Humane Society Silicon Valley: LOST Yorkie thats more info on what was posted above on the little lost male. |

Have you taken any pics of him yet? May be a good idea to get a pic of him how he came to you and before you chose do groom him any (if you haven't done so already). Oh, I hope he finds his owners if they are truly missing & looking for him... |

If he was running when you found him then lifeless. he may have been scared and was dehydrated & Weak, exhausted. Im glad you took him to the vets. Im sure someone is missing his terribly. and I know how it is to fall in love fast with these little ones. but Im sure someone else is missing this baby. he may not look like hes in good shape because of all hes been through while lost, doesn't mean he didn't have a great home. please check all the missing ads I posted on here before you decide to keep him. Im sure who ever lost him can show prof that he does belong to him. but I know your worry about just anyone been and saying yeah that's my dog. but the ones who did own him can show proof, pictures , shot records and vet ref proof. good luck in finding his owners. |
Found Yorkie.....Renovatedgirl Hi....'m new here & I would be heartbroken if my "Tuffy" was lost. He got out of his harness a couple of nights ago...but luckily we were able to catch him. It's really sad reading about all these lost yorkies. When you put up the Found posters....don't give out too much info. You should just say you found a dog. Let the person who responds TELL YOU what breed of dog...what gender...the weight...the look & so on. Also...maybe you could request that the person show you a picture of their missing dog...if they happen to say it's a yorkie. I would be worried...just like you are...that someone would respond who is not really the owner. Please keep us posted on what happens. I hope the owner is reunited with their baby...because they really do become part of the family. Ro:animal36:animal-pa:animal-pa:animal-pa |

I haven't taken Addie to a dog park yet, but when I do, I'll be sure to keep a close, close eye on her! |
wow that is terrible...right now Yoshi has an open grand larcency theft case open on him...for the cops thinks he was taking....and they said even if originally he wasn't the person or family that has him found him with the intention to keep him....meaning they are keeping something that doesn't belong to him...and due to his value...it makes it a felony. |
If the OP is in the San Francisco area, I saw a Lost poster for a yorkie near the Marina. |
