| Male Yorkies & Bows... My family and I had dinner at my sister's house tonight, as we do every night the Canes play, and my brother-in-law told me how stupid it was to have a bow in my male yorkie's hair. I don't think it's stupid but I just wanted to get other opinions on it. I don't want to walk around with people making fun of my baby ): |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Your BIL is afflicted with terminal stupidity. I won't worry what he or others have to say on the subject. Btw, those yorkies in dog shows aren't all females.

Senior Yorkie Talker | I don't put bows in my male yorkies hair. However, I have a family member that has some cute male bows for her male yorkie. They have sport themes. I think it is the owners choice what they do, and others should not judge. However, expect people who do not know you may mistake your male for female.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | While my dogs don't wear bows every day, they all do when we go out or go to a show--I have colors for the boys and different colors and bows for the girls. |

| I don't think it's a big deal, however, I personally don't put bows in Jackson's hair. But maybe that's just me *shrugs* It really doesn't bother me if people do, though.

| I would put bows on my boys in a heartbeat, if they would leave them alone. Within seconds after putting bows on, they're both pulling and rubbing their heads. I've just given up. Topknots are the classic yorkie look and male or female, I think they look great.

| I get teased all the time about Laddy's topknot whether I put a bow, a clip or just a band they tease me about his ponytail. I figure most people tell me how pretty SHE is even without a topknot so what the heck I like him in a topknot and he is going to have one I just ordered matching dress and vest with bows from chloe for Laddy and Lolita cant wait to hear the comments when they see those Last edited by nanahas3; 05-21-2009 at 08:41 PM. |

| I don't put a bow on Mika because he hates them, and I think my Gt Dane would try to pull it out

| I have sports bows for my male yorkie, Ben, that I just ordered from Ladymom -- they are adorable and studly too. I think the opinions you should ask for would be concerning BIL's lack of class for calling anything you choose to do with your own dog "stupid." I am guessing that you may have had to hold your tongue on more than a few things that he has done that could be deemed a couple of steps below ingenious! So, he should do the same when he fails to understand proper Yorkie grooming!
