| Hello Everyone Brand new Yorkie owner here. I teased my girlfriend about a month ago as we were planning on picking out our new furbaby about frequenting this forum. Now I guess I have to reap what I sew because I find myself diving into anything and everything I can find about Yorkies. We picked up Layla on Saturday, 1 day before she turned 12 weeks. We had talked about what kind of dog my girlfriend and I would get for her birthday and after checking out a few breeders, we decided a Yorkie was the way to go. Personally, I'm a fan of dogs of the larger variety (I still want a boxer!) and I thought that this would be a cute little purse accessory for my girl. How wrong could I be? I love this pup. Daddy's little girl is going to be spoiled as all get out. I'll try to get pictures up as soon as possible. I guarantee Jen (momma) is laughing at me right now. |

| Haha, well my big concern was that I wanted a dog to play around with. I figured with a yorkie, you can't really wrestle around with it. Last night I was laying down on the floor with her, and she's pounce on my head and nip my chin. It was adorable. That is Layla below. |

| It speaks volumes about your intelligence to see that you so quickly realized that resistance is futile. These little ones have very strong magic and they learn at an early age, ie: first day of life, how to use it to their benefit. Our 3 totally have my DH wrapped around their little paws. In fact I'm sure it's because of their overpowering influence that DH is saying we need a fourth. So when you hear yourselves saying that Layla needs a friend maybe we should get another one, realize where that thought is coming from, smile and just obey your little princess.

| Is it bad that it's only been like 5 days, and I have already had that thought? Jen has a 150 pound Golden Retriever. Needless to say, we won't be introducing them until she reaches full size. Last edited by Dstpeter; 05-27-2009 at 03:31 AM. |
