| Someone told me my baby is not a Yorkie! I was walking JoJo when I ran into a lady who was walking her 2 Yorkies. We stopped to ooh and ahh over our dogs. I said something along the lines of "it's nice to meet another Yorkie owner." She then told me I must be mistaken because my boy is not a Yorkie. What?? She said first his ears are right on top of his head and they're supposed to be off to the side. Then she said his legs and body are too long and his snout is too long also. Now I realize he's got a long body with long legs, but he's still only 6.5 pounds! But hers were tiny with the babydoll faces, and while he doesn't look like that, I can't believe he's not a Yorkie! Anyway, she told me he's a Silky Terrier. When I got home I googled the Silky, and he doesn't look like that to me! It makes me sad that someone would doubt his "Yorkieness"! Here's a pic of him...what do you guys think? (sorry about the quality...it's off my phone because my camera broke.) |

| Your boy is definitely a yorkie. That lady just was not familiar with the yorkie standard. I have seen many well bred yorkies with bigger ears and longer noses. Yorkies are not suppose to have a baby doll face and short legs. Just don't let it bother you. |

| Some people just try and deflate others to help their egos. Of course he is a Yorkie! He is adorable.. Only a yorkie could have a face as sweet as that

| That lady must have fell and bumped her head. Your pup looks nothing like a silky. Very much a cute yorkie. It annoys me so much when people say things like that. I have heard it so many time about my dog. Oh she's awfully big for a yorkie. Is she a silky? What kind of dog is that, blah blah blah...

| Thanks everyone! Now, I'd love him regardless of what he is. I guess what really got me upset is that she made me feel like he's not good enough or something. He's my baby, and the way she was talking about him made me wanna cry. He may not fit the "perfect" Yorkie standards, but he's perfect to me! |

| Of course he's a Yorkie. After you've been around as long as I have, you'll come to realize everyone thinks they're an expert on breeds, conformation, training and absolutely everydarnthing to do with dogs. Not.
