| Who rescued who?!? Hello YT...first time poster and first time yokie owner here, lol. I extended our family by one last Friday. His name is Sebastian, and he is truly an answer to a prayer. I am a dog person, and think the world would just be a much better place if everyone had a special doggie to love, but for the past 4 years I have been dogless (since my beloved schnauzer passed away). I have been waiting on getting a dog because I have young children, but am religiously looking up ads and breeders on the 'net, (just for fun)and I am probably one of the only people who has a dogster.com account with no dog. I knew my little family needed a dog to be complete, and after watching my two children play with mother-in-laws and sister-in-law dogs, and brorrowing them for extended periods of time, I decided that they were ready. I have always thought yorkies were the prettiest dogs I had ever seen, but I had never planned on getting a yorkie, because my kids are still pretty young, and was looking at "sturdier' dogs--mostly larger terriers, when I ran across an ad from a newly single mother who, because of a recent divorce, was having to move back home with her parents, and they would not allow her to bring Sebastian. I sent her an email, and set up an appointment to meet the little bugger. He was definitely used to being around small kids, and took up immediately with my 4-year-old (almost makes me jealous--in a happy sort of way ), and is great with my 2 year-old. Unless I saw it for myself, I probably would have never thought a Yorkie would be so great with kids. He has just brought a smile to all of our faces, and in a heartbeat has found such a place in our hearts. He is 1.5, and honestly just the perfect family dog. Sorry I don't really have any real pictures to post...but hopefully very soon. My avatar is from the pic listed on the classified ad where I found him, and just knew he was supposed to be mine. |

| Thanks everyone for the sweet welcome. Just wanted to post an update since I have had a super busy week, and haven't been on here much. Sebastian is still doing really great, and I am just beside myself with love for the little fellow. I took him to vet on Tuesday for a checkup and a heartworm test (negative thankfully), but I did find out he had a really bad case of kennel cough with a high fever. He had been lying around quite a bit, but I just thought he was trying to adjust being in a new home, but turns out the little guy was feeling pretty bad. My vet put him on antibiotics and gave me some cough medicine, and he is doing much better. |

| Hi there and welcome to YT. Your poor little guy was sick. I hope he starts feeling better soon. I am so glad you took him to the vet. That was a very good thing to do. He had a high fever, OMG, that must have been making him feel terrible. As soon as he begans feeling better he will be full of energy and ready to play Congradulations bringing home Sebastian.
