I was going to have a party on FEB.16 because I got married so we were going to celebrate our marriage on FEB. 15 I took my dog osito at this grooming shop called little ark grooming shop .That is on14th and market in san francisco i left him there exactly at 9:55 in the morning and they told me to pick him up at 3:00 o'clock in the afternoon I felt like I could trust them with my baby even thought it was my first time taking him there. I was like is going to be just fine so might as well I finished some stuff for the party and 30 min later after I left him I receive a called from little ark grooming shop (Barbara) the manager of the shop. She sound kind of worried on the phone and she said jes? we just lost your dog osito from the shop he ran away down the street and the they couldn't catched him and also between those 30 min they said the they receive a called from a lady saying the she had seen a small dog in 16th and potrero. in san francisco But now my question was how come they receive a called when my baby had his collar on with my information on it which I don't know how that person knew he was coming from there. By this time I was so destroyed crying with my husband telling me calm down baby we will going to get him back we went so quick to animal control to make a report in case if they was going to catched him also we went to Dolores Park because that's where we took him a few times and nothing nobody had seen him. We went back to little ark grooming shop again and they told us they were sorry and I was mad and crying I told them I could you guys do this. this is so irresponsible they said they were going to help us put flyers around the neighborhood so we look for him all around that day it came night time and nothing I was devastated. I'm not going to lie yeah I got really drunk that night you could said I got mess up my husband was at work by the time. My mother in law and my mom was worried about me and my husband got home as soon I he could and I remember he said is going to be okay babe you didn't have to drink. But the alcohol it just makes me feel worse. i was missing my baby boy so much The next day I got up early in the morning all hangover and we went to kinkos to make 500 flyers to put all around the city we went to the popular location where people take their dogs like dog parks and also talking to people if they had seen our baby and showing his picture too. We were still putting up flyers all around the neighborhood and also two of my husband friends were helping us out We went and put some flyers at Castro St and around that area. We went back again to 16th and potrero like the SPCA, PETCO, ANIMAL CONTROL, EMERGENCY VETS to put flyers all around we also went to Dolores Park to hang more flyers also to see if probably he was there we were also asking people if they had seen him or knew about our baby after being there at the park and also putting flyers all around the city we decided to called for the day. We was going home already get in the freeway when we receive a called in my mother's in law cell phone they seen some guy that had a dog exactly like ours at Dolores Park and they also said that the look like he was hungry and the dog didn't even want to go with him so we went back but the people told us the went they told the guy that the owners of the dog were coming he grab the dog and roll him up in white blanket and star running up to hill so we was once again disappointed then later on that night at home I seen my family like talking low like they didn't want me to hear of what was going on. My husband came up to me and said babe I'm going to tell you something but calm down okay. He said we just receive a called in your mom cell phone saying "he dude I got your dog and he is such a pus?? As? dog and I'm going to kill him. I heard the message and I started to cry even more in that time I felt like something hit me really hard and my mother in law give some pills so I could be able to rest a little bit. i didn't want too. but then next day came Sunday I still want it to go and look for him but my mother in law told me is okay we just going to pray and wait today. A big MIRACLE by 3 o'clock in the afternoon I receive a called from the FIRED DEPARMENT have you guys lost a dog and I was like "yes" well they said he got osito here with us we just look in his collar and that's how we got your number I started to cry oh my god!! THANK YOU GOD for receiving our prayers and we went there as soon as we could and there he was my baby he saw me and starting to move his little tail and started to kiss me I was crying of happiness. My husband, my mother in law, my mom everybody was crying of happiness a lady from the fired department told me just be careful because his paws are a little hurt. When we took him home we saw his paws and they were burned like somebody burn him. The vet told us that the burns look like somebody burn him like cigarettes burns because he had burns all over his little body I mean Paws, legs, chest, testicles all over. So this is my story i felt like sharing it with all of you..

OMG I dont even know what to say!!! I am so sorry to hear that you had to go through all of this!!!!!! I am so glad Osito made it back to you!! Poor boy sounds like he went through soooo much!!!!!! You will both be in my prayers!!!!!

isn't there something that could be done to hold the grooming place responsible for losing him or at the very least the person who worked there that let him loose! i understand that things happen but how would they feel if that happend to their pet i would be livid! im sorry that happened to your dog im so glad you finally got him back!!

thank you so much there was something i could have done and it was suing her but afterward i didn't wanted to because i believe in karma and when karma comes back they go and will get them right in the butt..:)

OMG I am so glad you got your baby back. They should burn the guy who did that to your precious baby! Let's burn his testicles with cigarettes!!! see how he likes it! Reading that story made me so mad! I am so glad it had a happy ending!

I read your whole post> AT the end I could not help it but cry. Your poor little baby. it is all too sad what he has been through. He needs to be seen by your vet ASAP. Those burns need to be attended to , because ofthe great risk of infection. He was tortured. Also , please call the police and them make a report, or as a animal cruelty case. This guy called your cell phone, his number is there, right? He made a threat, really harmed your dog too, he is a sick freak.
I am glad you got him back, and now he needs medicare attention. Burns are very serious. I have burns, so this has touched me on a personal level. It breaks my heart, to know what your dog has been through. How sick was that "individual" to do what he did ! I came from the Bay area.
It is unbeliable that this groomer place let go of a dog? Allowed a to get out of it's doors? run away? thats maddening! total negligence! A I'm so sorry does not cut it , all of this could have been prevented. Ignorant groomers . How crazy are those groomers? to let a little yorkie run away in San Fransisco? My blood is boiling.
Your baby loves you so much , and kissess you after being through hell. I am so happy he is back home safe where is needs to be. ALL off this just blows my freakin mind.

I agree, you should file a police report, and I would still sue the groomer. Their negligence caused you and your dog mental and physical harm! Also what about the vet bills that have incurred since the ordeal? If the police cannot catch the suspect, the groomer should hold some accountability as well.:mad:

Oh how horrible! Your poor baby:( This story is heartbreaking....there are so many sick idiots out there... Thank God your little one was returned to you...I hope he will heal from his physical and emotional wounds:(

omg I read the whole story and was getting more upset for you.. then I turn to anger as I read what was done to you little baby.. I would go after the groomer for this for sure.. this is why I learned how to groom my dogs.. in fact it is time I begin tonight.. I am happy for you to have him back.. keep us posted on how he is doing please.. just too sad for some one to do something like this to a little dog.. anne

Oh, Lord, as I was reading your story, I was just heartsick, thinking "Oh, no, not another lost baby", and then, I read that you got him back, I was beginning to feel happy, but then I read that he had been tortured, and I am furious!!!

How could anyone burn a little dog???

I agree with the other posters; you have that guys number on your mother-in-laws cell phone, I would report him to the police, the Humane Society and anyone else that will listen.

I am devastated that this happened to your little guy. I am glad he is home with you, safe and sound. (This is one reason I don't trust groomers.)

I was reading so fast through your post to get to the end hoping so much that you would say you found your little one! Thank God you did! How horrible someone was to have abused him with burns. I am thankful your prayers were answered before they could do worse to little Osito!

I know you are just thankful that you have Osito back, but that grooming shop needs to pay the vet bill at the very least. That was so irresponsible for letting one of the dogs in their responsibility actually get our of the building! If they are right on the street like that, they should have multiple barriers before a dog could escape to the outside!

And by all means, pursue criminal charges on the guy that said he had your dog!

All I can say is OMG! over & over. Unbelievable! I'm so happy you have him back in your care. Take lots of pics of his injuries should you decide to press charges on this monster. They will be important in court. I'd make sure the groomer saw those pics also.

I'll be thinking about you & sending good thoughts & prayers your way. So relieved for all of you that your little guys is back home with you.

I agree totally, give that number to the police.
I would also research his number to find out exactly who he is.
Then maybe think about putting up fliers about him in his neighborhood!!
This behavior has been documented as the beginnings of serial killers.
He should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, or beyond, if
you catch my drift.

I am so glad that you got your baby back. I am so very sorry that he was mistreated. The person who did this should be treated exactly as your poor Osito. Animals only know pure love for us and for people to mistreat them is beyond belief. That person will get his one day. Hugs to you and your Osito.

OMG! So horrible! I would definitely prosecute all involved. The Groomer needs to seriously make changes to prevent this from ever happening again and pay the vet bills, also include payment for yourself for the time you will spend at the vet and nursing his wounds, and for training to get him over the psychological impact this experience is sure to have had on him. The idiot with the cigarette needs to be in jail, for the safety of the general public. Karma will still come. You need to help prevent this from happening again by reporting it to all who will hear you.

I would do EVERYTHING I could do to keep this from happening to someone elses precious baby:
1. Sue the groomer - it's called neglience plane and simple
If your afraid of KARMA donate the money to an animal
shelter or to the firemans fund at the station that called
you.
2. Always file police reports....because it became a Federal
offense when he called your phone.
3. Place ads in local papers in re: groomer and the guy
maybe someone saw him with your baby.
4. Call your local TV station maybe they will run a story
about the crappy groomer and one about the guy!
I am truly sorry for what happened to your precious baby and for the emotional trauma you suffered. But... put on your big girl panties and find this creep and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. ASPCA will guide you on how to do it all! I am not being mean I just want this guy caught and stopped.....serial killers start out harming animals this is a proven fact. If I lived close to you I would help you.

How horrible!!! After reading your post I had to pick up and hug my own little baby. I can't imagine anybody going through something like that. I hope Osito is doing okay but be warned something like taht is very traumitizing. I adopted a dog who had been abused and it was very hard to get her to trust people again. I'm glad to see a happy reunion happened though and I hope that those people who did this to Osito are brought to justice!

Cigarette burns!!! There are some sick people out there. That freak will get his punishment some day.

your post made me cry with sadness, then anger and finally happiness that you got your baby back. What is this world coming to when sick ..cks like that can hurt innocent little dogs? I wasn't sure from reading your story if the guy who called you was definitely the one who hurt the dog. There are (clearly) some sick people out there, and it is possible that one person was just sick enough to call and threaten you. Possibly? I can't tell.

Anyway, if you DO ever take the dog to a groomer again, I have an excellent groomer in SF who does superlative work. PM me if you want their name.
