Some people are so rude! My sister in law said that "Louis is so ugly, he's cute" then went on to say he looks like a rat and we should have named him Fival. (you know the mouse from Fival Goes West) and said that we need to cut his hair, and kept calling him a girl. Hello, his names Louis, he's a BOY, and he is a Yorkie and they are suppose to have long hair. Not to mention he is NOT ugly, he is beautiful. There is no such thing as an ugly yorkie! People make me so mad! |

I was thinking the same thing, "jealous" I have had people come up loving on my yorkies and then they ask what a puppy cost. That's is always when they have something rude to say. I think they just are jealous, that they can't have a yorkie, so want to try to bring them down by saying something rude. |
I vote next time put her in her place, or it will just keep happening. I would think of a nice way of telling her to keep her opinion to herself, or don't visit. |

Louis is so gorgeous! You sis in law is totally rude! And i agree with everyone, she is jealous. His long hair means lots of attention and upkeep and maybe she's jealous she can't even do something like that for herself. Small dog owners don't like to hear people calling them rats! I had one rude guy come into my store, stepped on Uni's hand and didn't say sorry, called her a rat, then when I didn't say "bye" to him when he left called me a b*tch when he left! i confronted him, he walked away from me as he TRIED to one up me. I can't believe some people. |

I know what you mean several years ago when we still had a store front for our embroidery...i had a woman come in and she saw shelby rae who was always there with me ..and she said that shelby looked like a rat...well I handed her back her stuff and money and told her we didn't want her business and I asked her to leave my shop...she was mad but I refuse to work for someone who has that opinion of my baby girl..I say put your sil:mad: her in her place too.. |

Remember that saying "it takes one to know one"? Try that one on her. My opinion is when someone says something rude it's because the are envious. It's unfortunate there are so many people out there who can't control saying hurtful things to others. |
I think he is very handsome!!! There is a difference in trying to be nice to someone and taking someones crap... If a persons comment upset me that much they would know it. I am a very nice person to everyone but don't take peoples crap. I think next time I would tell her something in a polite but serious way so that she knew I ment business. :D To me a yorkie with long well kept hair just means they are well taken care of. Maybe if she says he is so ugly he is cute, tell her I wish I could say the same for you... You are just ugly!!! Hmm... Maybe that is too mean, maybe not. Hehe... :) |
I have had a lot of mean comments about Cash, but it is usually out of ignorance. People sometimes say that June looks like a rat and I just laughing say that she is rather a hamster. She is so tiny with this round little face! I just brush off their mean comments. It hurts sometimes, but I know my babies are beautiful and I think these people have just not seen the light! |

I've had people make rude comments, too, and some I've put in their place. My Daddy LOVES Lucy and Rebel, but it's his nature to "pick" at me. He and Mama will come over and visit and the babies are all over him. After a while he'll look at me and say "what do you want with these back alley dogs?" It doesn't bother me at all because I know he's just teasing. He and Mama babysat for me one time and he walked Lucy all over the neighborhood in a little pink dress. He had the BIGGEST grin on his face and introduced her to all their neighbors as his newest grandbaby! But, I have a sister who aggravated the crap out of me about dressing the babies and "spoiling" them. I made sure her daughter (my niece) got a shih tzu puppy for Christmas that year and it shut her right up! He wears clothes now and is absolutely spoiled rotten. She was jealous! |

Ugh, I hate this too. I don't know why people will sometimes have such problems with animals in general. If it were me, I'd put her in her place. Or just tell her if she really dislikes him so much she doesn't have to come over to your house. That should shut her up. |

My Dad told me that when they first brought me home the neighbors thought I was one of the ugliest babies they had seen. I didn't care, I was just glad to be someplace other than where I'd been for the past nine months!:D Doggies are cute and sometimes not so cute, and you just take it with a grain of salt. Here's a couple of Reesie pics at bath time. Looks like a Chupacabra to to me! haha! Other times she's cute as heck. Everybody is different, they see things in a different light, and have their own opinions of what they like. Most times we should all keep our opinions to ourselves. Don't let it bother you. This is my 56 years of experience telling you that. I understand some people think certain breeds are cuter than others, etc. That's fine! But there's no need to be SO rude. For example, I don't think Pit Bulls are cute. My aunt owns one though and he's her baby so I'm always having to hear stories about cute he is, etc and I just laugh and agree with her... People don't understand out dogs are like our KIDS.. that'd be like saying, "Man, your kid really looks like a rat!" I've had close family & friends say the rat comment, etc (And Jackson is 14lbs!) but they're all joking about it. They end it with saying he is really cute and a good dog, etc. I don't think that's a big deal. I tell Jackson he looks like a rat after bath time! LOL. |

If you don't stop her now it'll never end. My sisters oldest Chi is a 'beefy' dog and probably needs to loose some weight BUT he was breed to be a bit bigger than usual. We have one guy who always comments on how FAT he is. He thinks he's funny but it's really rude and she's getting mad. I told her she should have nipped it in the bud right away but she said she didn't think he'd keep going on and on about it. Well he has..... now she doesn't know what to do. |
Oh I got this comment last weekend we were at my step son's baseball game and my hubby's ex gfs mom came up to us to see the new dog. As she is petting the new dog and talking to my hubby, she is just totally blowing me and Stormy off, then all of a sudden she says " Oh look at that little rat! " :mad::mad: I nearly knocked her out, I said yeah this is a rat you could NEVER afford! |
