How amazing this post is up... I just finished looking over papers that I received a few months ago, and was trying to research the breeder, broker, etc. on Google searches. I bought my little girl on impulse at a Pet Store. I felt very nervous as I was trying to uncover the information, however, I truly love her anyway! She is a bundle of fun. Next week she will be 1 yr. |
I got Couver off of Craigslist... I know, I know... The woman had bought him from a breeder a town over, but inherited her grandchildren 9 months, 2 years and 5 years and they were too rough on him. So she decided to re-home him. I went over to her house and fell in love with my baby... I would not change a thing! With my next one, I will be doing more research into good breeders :D |
We;re getting our little Baylee from one of our long time friends. His dogs had their 2nd litter and we fell in love with our little Baylee. The dam and sire have never had any health issues and Baylee is super healthy and happy and full of energy :D Thursday is the day! We are super excited to bring her home! |

Mikey is our wee boy just 3lbs he is babys boy he is a little sucky baby our newest is Lexi and she is 5 months old and from the same Breeder as Bella |
I got Bluebelle from the same breeder I got Tink from 16 years ago. She shows Yorkies and breeds a few litters every so often to take her show dogs from. She has many champions and a couple of Crufts wins. I decided to go back to her because Tink lived for 16 years - I figured she knew what she was doing. However, I think most people here would consider her eccentric (we did). She has some strange ideas - though she has been breeding and keeping Yorkies for 40 years, so I always think its worth taking on board as much as you can from everyone. |
I have had two yorkies of my own. My first was Lilly (now deceased) she was my baby, my angel, my love. I miss her so much!! She came from (what I think) was a puppy mill... My aunt had bought from them in the past and she took me there to get my own.. as a gift (I paid a little).. I could not turn away after seeing all the babies and after taking my Lilly (the one I picked out) to the vet.. I just KNEW it was from a puppy mill, and I still to this day do NOT believe she was full blooded yorkie!! I felt like I saved her, atleast until she died.. another sad story... After the sadness, about a week and a half after Lillie died I got Jazmyn... I had my Step-mom help me with finding her, and after much, much, MUCH time and searching we found my baby.. the one to fill the void, a new little angel! She came from a woman in MO that had two momma yorkies and one daddy, not sure how often she breeded them but my baby is supposed to be the "runt" of the litter, I got her at 6 weeks and she was 1 1/4 pounds... both her parents are only 4 lbs so we're not sure if she'll reach that, it won't matter to me cause I'll still love her!! |
My Charlie Boy was a gift from my husband on our anniversary in August. He was advertised in the local paper as a "purebred"...NOT! But he's big and healthy and very energetic:) I had purchased a beautiful little girl in June from a BYB whom I didn't know anything about (Lesson Learned!). My little Lilly passed away 3 weeks later, it broke my heart! I got my two girls as adults from a local breeder (also considered a BYB) but this time I RESEARCHED and checked references! I did a lot of web site work/design for her and was able to negotiate a nice price, as well as being able to visit her home and see things for myself:) |
My little Laddy was bought for me by my DH after I lost my dad (from a puppy mill :() He stole our hearts and we couldnt bare to leave him there but we have not regretted it he is the love of our little home and the boss. I say yorkies are the best antidepressent on the market. So far thank God he has been really healthy. Next time when we get a little girl for a playmate for him I hope to find one here on YT from a breeder. I have plans to meet with WalnutHills sometime this summer. |
I adopted Molly 18 months ago, when she was 2 years old. She was advertised in the paper, and the lady had only had her for 2 weeks. She'd bought her as a companion for her male yorkie, but decided Molly was too out going and 'streetwise' for her timid boy. Later found out, i was Molly's 5th owner in 2 years! |
None of the above I bought Wiggy from none of the above. The place is in the middle of nowhere and they do buy dogs from reputable breeders to sell reasonably priced. They pledge no mill puppies. However, I did have my doubts after the purchase because he came with Kennel Cough. I literally reamed this lady for 5 weeks! I called her a whole lot of not nice things, ALL in regard to her dog-mill. Finally, she gave me the contact info for the breeder, which was local to her. I visited and talked to them and realized I was 100% WRONG! I had 5 weeks worth of apologizing to do, and I did. Basically her place is a pet store with puppies for sale and supplies and a doggie day care. The staff was kind and caring and graciously accepted my apologies. The owner even gave me a $50 gift certificate, which I refused because I had been so mean and so wrong. I now know they sometimes take in rescues, mutts and other puppies and find them homes for cheap. They once had a pup with a deformed leg for $75. She kept him so long that I'm sure he cost more to keep than she made. I bought my Weimaraner from a breeder, straight from his farm, so there were no doubts there. |
