I feel the same way... I don't blame her breed, I blame the behavior. While she did just have pups, the chi was on the couch, in a separate room by herself. I wish that this would not have been allowed to happen, but I was not there to prevent it

I don't know what the rescue's plan is with the dog, but I hope that they do not place her in a home...

I don't think you should blame yourself. Without sounding harsh your friend was warned and whatever possessed her to allow this dog to walk through the house without being leashed / knowing her chi was accessible was clearly her own irresponsibility. Again, I don't want to sound harsh but SHE put that Chi in danger and honestly I do not understand how she would not have taken her immediately to the vet also you said it was the second time her chi was attacked. From an outsider's point of view it would make me wonder whether she is fit to have another small dog since it was now twice that that poor thing was attacked. Just my .02. Elaine
