| Greenies, Chicken and Pig ears , Oh My!! Just a simple few Q's I have been going crazy on buying snacks for Marley.. She only gets them after she eats her kibble .. so basically they are after dinner treats. I am not home during the day to give them to her, so yes she is getting the proper nutrition and not just eating treats. So I just wanted to get some feedback on what you guys have fed your furbabies and what is garbage. She LOVES pig ears.. she could chew chew chew chew all day long .. She eats these dehydrated jerky like chicken strips too.. she can eat one of those in one 5 minute sitting. Chomp Cubes , the PB flavored kind are a hit too at my house. And last but not least she eats Greenies. I am not sure if any of this is absolutely bad for her even in moderation but just thought i would throw this out here and see who comments. She gets carrots and greenbeans for goin potty outside too.. dang , now that i think about it .. she is really spoiled I'm just glad she eats all her kibble and doesn't refuse to eat kibble because she knows she can get something better LoL |

| I know that a lot of people on here do not think Greenies are good for pups, so I have never fed my pup them. Also, rawhides, are not good because they splinter. I have heard good things about bully sticks, and recently picked some of those up for Couver. He LOVES his bully sticks. I personally try not to give Couver too much because I have seen weight problems with some dogs, and I don't want him to expect treats and table scraps. I really never give him human food, but I know vegetables are good for them.

| Luckily Marley and I have plenty of exercise in the evening ( running/walking/rough housing ) so I haven't seen any weight gain. Her poop is what I would call "normal" with constipation once, and i contribute that to too many cheerios, so i dont give those to her anymore. I have also heard about rawhides splintering but when she chews on it , its really soft and "gooey" if you will, before she goes trying to tear it off. So I dont see a possibilty of splinters but hey i am no vet so i am still open to any opinions or stories or treat success stories or "nightmares" |

| The only "treats" that I give Missy are bullysticks and 100% dehydrated salmon (for peeing on her pad or basic training). Besides that she gets homecooked meals, I figure that's "treat" enough.

| Alot of those treats sound like things I give my girls....except the pigs ears...I only give mine bully sticks to chew on....I don't know much about pig ears.... However many people have differing views on greenies....It's about the ONLY chew that Daizy will eat...yet if I give them to her...it's only once in a great while.....but if you do continue to give them to Marley......make sure you give them in moderation...like no more than one ever few days....too many can cause digestion problems....and there are scary stories about greenies...you can look them up on the internet...I'd definately watch her while she's eating them...some yorkies like to swallow the last little bit...and that can get lodged in her throat....so please use caution if you are giving those to your baby!

| Jackson refuses to eat the greenies. lol. I guess he thinks they're gross. I stopped giving him rawhide bones after he choked on one and scared me to death!!! It got all mushy and gooey and really small from my mom's dog chewing it down and he tried to swallow it - bad idea. Luckily, I was there to help him. Jackson LOVES bully sticks and LOVES pig ears. However, I heard pig ears are definitely more fattening and not as good for them so I try to get those to a minimum, only for a special treat. Because he just absolutely loves them. They're cheaper than bully sticks I will find random treats now and then in Petsmart, etc and get them for him as well but I can't think of any specific brands. I try to always look at the ingredients before buying and if they were made in the USA or not. For trick training treats and potty rewards, we usually use the Wellness treats. They're little square shapes and if you break them up even smaller, they're perfect for trick training.

| I'd say no on the Greenies and I don't like pig ears because of fat content and the concern of salmonella all over my blankets. The FDA put out a warning about chicken strips/jerky from China, so be careful there...

| Twinkle LOVES pigs ears so I get them occasionally for a special treat. I'm not sure if I can buy Bullysticks in the UK (someone correct me if I'm wrong) Maybe she'll be lucky enough to get some in the GE I've read so many horror stories about rawhide so I don't give her any and I've never heard of greenies, what are these?
