| yorkies and cats?? Do any of you have feline friends for your yorkies? my boyfriend and I would love to get a kitten sometimes this summer as a friend for Dude. He's loved every cat he's ever met and I'm really hoping to find a very energetic and playful kitten that can be a good playmate for him. Do your pups get along with cats? any advise or experience with this breed and cats would be great |

| Mine do not like cats, but that is probably because we do not have any. The neighbors do though and they let them run around unattended. They like to follow the squirrels cue and sit on the privacy fence post just to taunt my dogs. I finally have to make my dogs come in so they won't bark.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i got a kitten just this past september and Morgan LOVES her. They get along great. They like to wrestle together and they play so well. It turns out that the kitten, Skoshi, who is 9 months old now is a Maine Coon mix. She weighs almost 3 times the amount of Morgan but is gentle as can be. my situation turned out great in that they love each other. Yours may not be so successful. even if you get a young kitten, the cat may not like Dude.

| that's what i'm afraid of, the kitten being scared of Dude. I have no worries about Dude not being in love with the cat. we have a young cat next door that tried to "hunt" Dude when I was out pottying him one morning. It was the funniest thing. Now whenever the see each other they play chase and roll around and have such a good time, and that's the kind of friend i would like him to have. I'm not sure if it would help to get an older kitten? |

| Couver gets along with my cats really well, but it could be the fact that they have grown up together... Couver likes to play with them, and the cats usually seem to enjoy it. If you are planning on having a cat, I would suggest getting it asap so they get used to eachother soon. I don't know how introducing cats to older dogs would do... I'm sure they would be fine, but it might take them longer, or they may not have the bond that mine do

| i had my cat first... and then toby, but they get along well!! toby always wants to play, if my cat had claws i guess he might be in trouble. but the cat could easily run away from him b/c he is gated in the living room so i think she is playing too... |

| Perhaps getting a playful kitten for a playful yorkie would work out, but I brought a playful yorkie into a home w/an 11 year old neutured male cat, and the cat, Wilson, just can't tolerate the yorkie, whatsoever! Apple wants to play and be friends w/Wilson, but I don't think it's ever going to happen, unless Apple settles down, when she gets older, and I don't see any signs of that...My house is divided into two parts now...The cat gets the 3 bedrooms, and the yorkie gets the living room, dining room, kitchen and entry hall...Apple goes nuts, when she sees the cat in the hallway, because she just wants to play, and the cat sees a wild little furry thing that wants to jump all over him, and give him grief lol....Wilson has tried several times to sit there and be friends, but Apple is all over him, attacking him, so he's not trying anymore, and I can see it's useless to try to get them to be friends...I hope, down the road, I'll have a different story to tell, but right now, that's how it is....But, as I said in the beginning, a kitten might work, but I'd watch out for the kitten for a little while.... Maggie & Apple & Wilson, my big fluffy, gorgeous, mellow cat.... |

| Jackson sort of gets along with cats but it's a very annoying thing. My dad has 2 cats, a a male and female. Jackson will get along with the female, they will sniff each other slowly, and be friends but the minute the cat jumps on a table or somewhere he can't reach.. BARK BARK BARK. lol. The male cat hisses and swats at Jackson, so of course he doesn't like that, and it causes him to bark.

| We had a stray cat adopt us and decide she needed to live with us. She is very sweet. She was an adult when she came and her and Laya get along great. They lay in bed together a lot. They took to each other right away. Evidently the cat had been around dogs before, but Laya had never been around a cat. I feel very lucky that it worked out this way.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Nolee likes our 2 cats. He loves my stepson's cat, he was a kitten when I got Nolee. Any other cat he does not like! I don't know if it is because they are ours, I guess he just knows!

| I have 3 cats, Max & Ivy. Ivy is older and she and the cats don't care one way or the other. But Max is only a little over a year and LOVES to play with the cats!! As I'm typing this the one cat "Yoshi" is getting ready to jump on Max (hope they don't wake everyone as it's kind of early )
