| they shaved my puppy!!:( i told the groomer i only wanted her to trim up some....i get teddy back and hes totally shaven! well except for his head, it was trimmed down...but it looks too big for his body and he doesnt look like the furball baby i love! she told me he was matted because his adult coat is coming in and the puppy coat was matting with it....he had more of a soft, wooly coat and i didnt think it could be silky because silky coated yorkies have silky hair when theyre puppies too! is this true? she also told me itd be grown back about an inch in 4 wks....of COURSE i dont love him ANY less but i miss the cuddly fur! |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | The best thing I can say cause I've been there too - is just enjoy the new look and brush everyday if your baby has a cottony coat - then there won't be any knots....Both my girls had tangles when changing from puppies to adult coats and from what I've read about other yorkies...this isn't unusual. I bet he looks cute |

| I'm sorry that the groomer butchered your Teddy I think their coats change a lot from the time they are puppies to full-grown adults.

| I think what we as Yorkie mama's are going to have to do is to write down and explain what we want. Then if they do it wrong make a big stink. They need to start listening better and not making choices for us. If we don't know the coat is matted next to the body but they tell us that the coat is changing maybe we would want it cut shorter for ease but maybe, like me, we like to comb and brush their hair. My groomer seems to be very good, when I remember to tell her exactly what I want. But then unless they need trimmed or I just want them to have a treat I don't usually take them in. When they start to look like the Shaggy DA, I have to take them in. LOL Sylvia |

| My dog Kelsey's fur doesnt really get matted up like I thought it would. She is half yorkie/poodle so I was suprised. I have a really good conditioning spray by: Vererans Best natural care. It works really well for tangles.

| Cutting up your furbabies is to me totally uncalled for... I'm sure all of you have had a bad hair cut yourself in the past, and its all about the stylist that does your hair, if she/he loves there job and takes pride in it then thay will listen to the customer. Lack of communication is the key also. I'm a hairstylist myself and i have worked with many that just dont care an i'v also worked with many who have done hair for years but dont have a clue what there doing. As far as the dog groomers im sure its the samething. This is why i choose to groom my own babies, i do it all then i know its done the way i want. Now i know some can not do this there selfs but it's really not as bad as you think. If i were ya i would write it down and tell them what you DO NOT like or want. It just gives them an idea what you dont like. That seems to stay in there heads more so then anything. Dont let them do this to ya babies and not say anything to them.

Yorkie Yakker | I just made an appointment for my baby to have his first haircut this week. Now I'm a little nervous I don't want him shaved just trimmed. The groomer said I can stay while he is getting groomed, so at least I'll be able to watch and tell her exactly what I want. I'm sure your baby is still adorable, in fact Bailey looks a lot like him now. |
