| i think i have to leave him today... so toby came home last monday and i've been lucky enough to not have to leave him alone yet. We are crate training and I need to run out today and no one will be home with him. I have a purse for him but he tries to jump out so I'm not comfortable taking him in that. Soooo I think I'm going to put him in his crate and run my errands. I'm nervous though, and I feel so bad. I will only be gone 1-2 hours. 2 being the VERY MOST... any advice or tips?? I'm so worried he is just going to cry and cry |

| lol, I was the same way when Hot Rod came home. He was a Christmas present from hubby and he surprised me 2 weeks before Christmas. Talk about anxiety! I had things to do for the holidays and I was torn to run errands and stay home with him. Needless to say I must have looked like a mad woman tearing through the stores shopping and trying to get home quickly. ha, ha. I was gone the most for 3 hours 1 trip. I get home and he was sound asleep. He'll be fine, you're the one whose going to be a wreck.

| He will be absolutely fine! I felt the same way the first week I brought Jackson home but they're absolutely fine. They just sleep!

| He will be fine. My only advice is be ready to walk out the door because if he cries or whines it is hard to listen to. If he is anything like Rudy he will sleep and be terribly excited to see you when you return. Rudy has been going in his crate while I am gone for work each day (no longer than four hours) and has been for a week. He is to the point now where he doesn't even cry or whine when he goes in; he just lays down to sleep. The first time is hard but they really are ok. |

| He will be just fine, you need to start somewhere. Another good trick is to hide little treats in his crate (i use cherrios). When my dog goes in she spends awhile searching for something fun to eat then settles in for a nap.
