All I see is that picture of a rotty...oh wait, that's your yorkie.

Just kidding. Your baby is an adorable yorkie, and looks like nothing else.

People are often clueless.

BTW, my two teapots are not good examples of the breed, and yet, I still recognize a gorgeous yorkie.

Life would be so boring if every person or every dog looked exactly the same. Any yorkie owner can tell you he is a yorkie. He is perfect and looks gorgeous. Congratulations on your cute furbaby!

There's such a variety of coloring on Yorkies, too. Maybe the other woman's Yorkie is very light.

Your baby is an excellent example of the breed, but many people don't know what a real yorkie looks like. That's a wonderful picture, by the way, and Happy Easter to you and Laddy!

I think Laddy is an absolutely gorgeous speciman of a yorkie

Maybe she has a collie and someone told her it was a yorkie

WOW . Perhaps that woman did not realise your Yorkie is only 6months old? Some people are very rude , and have nothing nice to say ... there the ones who know there dogs are not as pretty as the next. LOL.
I have my Suzi with me a lot of places , I am just waiting for the day when somebody makes a stupid comment... So far, not yet. I thought it was going to occur yesterday.. An older lady kooking at Suzi in my arms , asking me about her, and what her name was and what she was going to have done at the groomers that was THurs, than she says, I have a yorkie in the car... Ok I am thinking, she did not insult My Suzi ... I have not had anybody yet , and all know that she is a yorkie, than all want a yorkie after seeing her, which I find comical.. I Think to myself, NO your not getting My SUZI!

Your baby is 100% YORKIE!!!! She obviously does NOT know the breed!!! She probaby has a mix! lol Don't be put off by what a stranger tells you.....she clearly did Not know what she was talking about!!!

Definately looks yorkie to me! This is funny you bring this up. A few days ago Dh and I drove the McDonald's drive through. The guy (young guy) asked what breed Roxie was. DH told him and the guy said that he has one but his mom has always kept theirs cut really short and he was surprised to see what they look like with longer hair. So I guess haircuts could make a difference in appearance of some. If he's used to seeing his shaved down and his might be bigger in size I can see where he might not have been sure.

Thank you all so much for the nice comments on Laddy. I guess being a first time yorkie owner its hard for me to understand someone not knowing the breed when they see it especially another yorkie owner but I will try to grow a thicker skin when it comes to the bad comments
