I think this is so stupid to breed 2 pounds Yorkies . Even if a breeder had a local with gold furnitures , it is stupid . I'll never buy a pup from these breeders .

I would be really careful and maybe even reconsider. I don't want to be a downer either but we've heard too many stories of really traumatizing health issues because the breeder was trusted. We just want you to be careful and not get dooped into getting a sick puppy or a puppy that has Too much potential to get sick. I know I should be the last to talk. My baby is extremely tiny at 3 lbs but the mom was almost 5 lbs and the dad was 2 lbs. So the mom was healthy enough and had enough weight on her to be bred. I would reconsider. I know you've already fallen in love with her but just think about things.

Yes, check out the dog really good. A visit to the vet is in order the minute you get him. My Snoodles is 3# but her mother was a good 7# and the father was about 5#. Even at that, she has knee problems and will eventually need surgery. I am just hesitant to have it done because of her size. She isn't hurting right now, anyway. But this is some of the problems that come up with the tinies!

Congratulations! Have the Nutrical on hand for such a tiny one, and definetely have him checked by a vet ASAP. Did the breeder give you any references...especially a vet reference? The vet reference was the most valuable call I made when deciding to get my little boy.

Eventually, I will. But not anytime soon. There is a big demand for them in Kentucky. They are so hard to find. I have a lot to learn and want to make sure I have done all the proper research and etc. I want to be an excellant breeder with quality pups. My babies will be well taken care of. I also will screen my homes that they go to. My husband will be a huge asset to me since he has bred and trained Field Champions for well over thirty years. His dogs are like our family and mine will be, too.

The only bright spot here is that at least she isn't overcharging.

sorry to be a downer.
yes, there will be financial reimbursement. You didn't rain on my prade. No one could do that today I am so happy and I have great confidence in my breeder. I would put her up against anyone in the way she handles her program. A lot of people are afraid to bred smaller dogs but if the male is small and they are looked after every step of the way by the vet, I don't see the problem. I am not a dummy. nor is she. We are well aware of what can happen to the smaller ones that the larger ones don't have to deal with.

Nope, can't insult me today. Just try to be happy for me okay.

Thank you so much. WOW!!!!!!!!!! It was nice to read your post after all the negative one. I din't expect such rudeness from my new found friends here. Not sure if I will be back or not. I got exactly the kind and size of dog I wanted. I am confident in my descision. It really doesn't matter what others think. I was getting discouraged almost to the point of settling for a dog I knew I wouldn't be happy with. Again, thanks for your kind words.

Please stay! I can't wait to hear your stories with the new baby. I don't think anyone was trying to be rude intentionally. We have this nature for looking out for each other and we just wanted to make sure you had thought everything out. We have some passionate breeders here, but we're all passionate about our babies too. I for one, am not ashamed to admit I WANTED a tiny tiny yorkie. I like her being super small. I would love her even if she grew but I also wanted a very small one because that's just who I am. MY ONLY concern was the health of the new pup. But sounds like you've done all your research. I hope you decide to stay because I'm really excited to see pictures CONGRATS!!!!!

Smile I'm happy for you

Well, it looks like you have done the research, and are aware of any pitfalls and are willing to do what you need to do for your new baby. I agree with some of the others, that there are problems with the smaller Yorkies with health issues, but since you seem to know what you are getting yourself into, I say "Go for it -- and more power to you!" It is your puppy and if you are happy that's all that is important. So I am happy for you!

I, for one, even prefer the larger Yorkies. Maybe because that is what my daughter has and what I am used to. But the smaller ones just look like puppies all the time, so it would be nice to have one that looks like a puppy forever. Just like having kids. It would be nice if you could keep them little and never let them grow up! Course we have litters periodically, so we get to have babies around a lot.

anyway, stick around and post pics of your new baby when you get him.

Licking my wounds here but will stay because of all the nice people like you. Yes, my baby is just what I wanted. What I have wanted all my adult life and even knew what a Yorkie was!!!!!!!! I have always wanted a tiny one and that is just what I got but like you, even if he grows i will love him. As far as purposely buying a large one tho, I would never do it. When i started my search I was looking for something between three and five. I feel blessed to have found my baby. he looks just like the picture of the other new baby posted today. He is brown with a lot of tan on his head. All four legs are tan. I think. At least his front legs are. His little nose is like a little black button. he is perfect and I wish I were smart enough to do the picture thing but I looked and I just can't figure it out. The pctures I took today aren't that great anyway but I will have lots of others. My hubby put the camera right in his little face almost.

I know that there are a lot of Yorkies on this site that are very tiny!
Some are around 2-3 lbs. Some people want a tiny baby and some want the standards. My baby will probably be around 4-5 lbs. and I am happy with that.
You will be such a good mommy. I can already tell. I know he will be in good hands and be a very healthy baby . Good luck!!!

Thank you for your kind words!!!!!!!!!! My baby looks just like Chloe's picture that is under your name only his ears are up. same exact markings right now but I understand that probably will change as he gets older. Isn't it funny how they all look alike when they are babies. Wonder why that is?
