				 | Wellness Core Ocean is a great, fish-based, grain-free kibble. They use low-ash whitefish and do not preserve any of the fish with ethoxyquin (sp? I'm tired..) Might be worth a shot for Molly

				 | "Whereas Molly, she eats Eukanuba dry food [which contains meat and meat-by-products], and the Eukanuba canned chicken chunks." Knowing what can go in to "meat by-products" I make sure NOT to feed any to my dogs. I used to until I learned more what was allowed when it falls under that title. So, now I only pick foods that have no by-products. Here is a link to some of the quality pet food sites and you can look through to find one that meets your needs. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...e-samples.html There are plenty of seafood and even vegetarian foods. Just be careful to make sure you are getting enough protein % tfor a healthy dog. I fully understand your feeling the need to feed your dog more on your own beliefs. I think you can come pretty close. I would definately lose the Eukanuba. A couple of articles that explain why I do not feed meat by-products to my pets follow. They are graphic and may make you ill since meat by-products can include euthanized pets among many other sources.... Where Do Euthanized Animals Go Pet Food Ingredients By-Product Meal, Meat and Bone Meal, Animal Fat…what’s in there?

| Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Dog are carnivores - their dentition and digestive systems are designed as carnivores. I too am a pescatarian - but I made that choice for myself. I feel the best choice for my dogs is for them to eat what they're best designed to eat. That said, if a diet is properly balanced - amino acids can be found elsewhere, so dogs can live very healthily on non-meat diets as well, and sometimes they must due to certain disease states.

Fish-based and Grain free sounds awesome! I may get a sample and see how she takes to it!

As long as I see that she can still get her source of protein and amino's, then it's worth a shot. Thanks for your reply! I'm really glad I started this thread; I love all the input. It's a BIG help!

| Senior Yorkie Talker | Anyone know where I can get a free sample of Wellness Core Ocean???? I can't seem to find any sites offering samples of it, and I do not want to spend MORE money on a bag of food Molly probably will not like. It would be nice to see how she likes it first. Thanks!
