Omigosh, I couldn't believe my eyes when I logged on and saw this. I'm so sorry for your loss! I remember your post about losing your other yorkie due to the rabies shot b/c that's what caused me to call my vet in a huff with tons of questions and concers!!! As for getting another little one, you still have some time. The pain is still so raw with Suri and no one is saying you have to make a decison right now. Take some time for yourself and maybe re-evaluate how you feel in about a month...:) Big hugs for you!!!!!!! RIP Suri!!!!!

First of all I want to say my heart breaks for you and I am so sorry this happened to Suri.. what an adorable name..she will be missed and she will never be forgotten..

To love her and miss her, IMO getting another puppy to fill the void is a huge compliment to Suri..it means you miss her so that you need that love and the cuddles and the mere joy of a little furbutt to love.. it will not mean you have forgotten her.. not one bit..

I lost two 5 year olds.. now I am a paranoid person and people often think I am a bit nuts over my dogs and super protective.. many friends do not understand with not being in my shoes..

I had a 5 year old fall off the bed in the night.. she punctured her left lung and the vet said she bled out in about 10 minutes and had I see it happen I would not have gotten to him on time to save her.. this is a bed she slept on since I had her.. and we had thick carpet but it was a freak accident and the way she fell that did this to her..I miss her and still love her ... but I learned to love again...

Only to love again I had a 5 year that had a reaction to a shot and it killed him.. I took watched him take his last breath.. and I was devestated..I also felt how could this happen to one person.. that not only loves her yorkie babies. but dotes on them like I did.. they were and are my life..

I moved forward.. and have yorkies.. yes I have 5 yorkies.. and I love them all the same.. they all have such different personalities.. and how they show love..

No one would ever think it bad for you to have another baby to love..I did and when each one reaches the age of 5.. I hold my breath I know.. but I get by it each time so far..


Hugs to you and I feel your pain.. it never goes away.. once you see this happen to another person.. it opens old wound again.. again I move forward..

Oooh honey I am so sorry to hear that. That is horrible. When I was contemplating buying Zoey as a companion for Lulu there was an accident. She got out and was hit by a car. It broke me down something awful. My immediate thought was that I didn't want her because it felt wrong. But honestly after mourning and feeling the emptiness she left behind I knew I had to have a new baby. It took some getting used to but I am glad I did. I realized that Zoey wasn't a replacement but she was intended to be a companion. It took some time to not find myself comparing the two girls but I love Zoey in a whole different way.

I would tell you to not close the door on it. I swear once you have a yorkie there is no going back.

Oh my god...I am so sorry I hurt for you! I know what it is like to lose a little one suddenly....for us we got little kaylee about 2 months after we lost our little rhenny...she will never replace rhen but she has brought us so much joy and taken our focus from the tragedy but only you can know when the time is right...just know that suri had a happy life with you even though it was short.and there are so many born each day that need love..

I am so sorry for your loss...I know what you are going through. I thought I was going to have to be hospitalized when my 3 month old Keelyn got hit by a car.

I ended up getting another baby almost immediately and it ended up being the best thing I could have ever done. I call Mya my happy pill, and thank her everyday for helping me get through the loss of my first baby girl. It took a few days, but as soon as Mya recognized me as Mommy, it eased the pain a little bit.

I am all for getting a new puppy, not as a replacement, but as motivation to keep going and keep loving.

You are in my thoughts, I am so sorry for your loss. Know that it doesn't go away-but it DOES get easier to go on.

I am so sorry about your Suri. She was blessed to have you. You will know when and if it\'s time to get another puppy. I lost my 10 year old Abbey 3 years ago. I had two senior dogs at home so that made it easier but I needed a puppy so I got my little Izzy 3 months later. But I know how you feel. We also lost our sweet little Kady 2 weeks ago. She was 16 years old. I\'m just not sure if I want to get so attached to another one. My prayers are with you and your family.
