| Odd Smell So for the past couple days now I've noticed this odd smell coming from Gizmo's mouth. At first my husband said it smelled like something perfumey and today he says it smells like urine. It's no where else on his body and the only way I can really explain the smell is like a sweet perfumey urine smell. I though maybe it was from his bully sticks but they don't smell like this. I can't stand the smell anymore! Could it be bc he is losing his baby teeth? |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | I think it's the teething. Their mouths can make you throw up when they start teething. Keep giving him chewies and brush those teeth.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | I never noticed any odor from teething. I can tell you it's a symptom of liver shunt though.

| Oh no! I hope he doesn't have liver shunt! My husband thinks that he's just been rubbing his face in his pee pee pad! I think the smell is coming from his mouth though! What are other symptoms would he have if he had liver shunt? |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Here's more info on liver shunt....and they don't necessarily have every symptom or more than one. The breathe odor comes from the toxins building up in their body. Portosystemic Shunts FAQ

YT 500 Club Member | I never noticed any odor related to teething. The flora and bacteria in her tummy/intestines might be off though.
