Does your dog make their bed before laying down? I haven't been around alot of dogs,but our 3 yorkies make their bed before they lay down. They tug on the blankets and scratch them to death before they lay down. I get so tickled. Do all breed of dogs do this or is it a yorkie thing? |
I know my Mayzie does this. It is hilarious. She gets so into it with scratching and digging and hopping. It is a hoot to watch. |

Everytime there is a blanket or towel around...on the couch in the car on the bed, Milo is an equal opportunity space maker. It must be just to his likeing to lie down :) |
My Missy does this! I've also had a poodle, a maltese, and a Lab-cross that made their beds too. |
Oliver does it too! It's like it has to be just right or he cant lay down!! One of my Beagles does it too!! :D |
Both of my babies do this very vigorously! It's so cute. It takes them a while to find the perfect position. |

Yes, Fantasia do the same thing its like she is trying to get her cover just right before she will lay day, I think it's so cute. |
It's really hard work for JoJo to get his bed ready. Sometimes, he lays down and has to get up, go in circles and scratch some more. When his bed and blanket are in a mess and his hair is wild, then he can rest well. |

This is my first experience with dogs. Mine do that. It is so funny to watch. Sometimes after they get it juuust right and get ready to lay down, I will mess it up. Sometimes they will do it all over again and then sometimes they will just plop down and sigh. :) |

Yes Precious does this also. I read that it's a natural instinct as well & that when dogs were wild they would remove sticks & other bumpy things before bedding down. So now whenever she does it we say go ahead get those nasty sticks out of your bed!!! LOL MOMMY TO PRECIOUS:aimeeyork |
Yup! Tobie is the only one of my dogs that does this. He scratches like crazy before he lays down. lol |

yep both of mine do this, we bought them both several baby blankets that are scattered around the house for them to do this. |
Sasha will do that all the time, sometimes not even with just her bed. If I have a pile of clothes laying on my bed or on the floor, she'll go scratch them around until they're just right for her and then curl up in them. Everything has to be just right before she gets comfy. |
memeof4 Yes my Izzy does the same thing everynite its toooo funny. Every once in awhile I reach over and mess it up and she just gives me a bad look and starts it all over again, I laugh so hard.Its the funest thing. Oh how we love our babies.. |
Woody, not so much, he just kinda plops down. Maybe a circle or two if he's really wants it to be extra comfy. At bed time, he just plops on my pillow and I almost have to fight him for room for me to sleep! :eek: Bogie on the other hand, when he goes to lay on the back of the couch, he just picks his spot, but at bed time, it's a ritual . . . clean daddy's feet, maybe his calf (if he's not too tired) then make a good soft place to lay down by mommy's feet :confused: It we're lucky, we find him in the morning under the covers between us. It's so cute!;) |
Pff!...I won't tell you the amount of comforters and throw pillows Gucci has damaged doing this. He gets an earful from me all the time about it too. He stops when I ask him to though (of course provided I am around to catch him in the act and salvage my fancy comforter). |

Oliver is a bedmaker/digger for sure! He also loves to grab the corner of the towel we keep by the back door to wipe his paws. He gets it in his teeth and goes racing through the house w/ the towel flung behind him trailing over his shoulder. We call him Zorro-Dog ! |
