| Check out your info on birds & see what is toxic to they. Most candles used to be made of all parrafin (usually a poor grade), which is a by-product of petroleum....not good. Also, the wicks of candles used to have a lead wire in the middle of the wick to hold it's shape during pouring.,,,not good. Today you can find many candles that are soy based or all soy. Soy is made from...the SOY bean which is a natural product. Also candle makers in America,as a group, decided years ago not to use lead in wicks...so if your candle is made in America it's wick, if it has a wire in it, will be either zinc or tin. Parrafin candles vs Soy Candles...most candles made of parrafin are made with a poor grade so they soot, if they are over fragranced that makes it even worse....the soot will lay on everything, go into your HVAC ducts making a mess & go up your nose. Soy candles are made of soy beans which is all natural & is readily replenished. Also it burns clean. A VERY important thing about burning candles....KEEP YOUR WICKS TRIMMED. Even a soy candle will soot if the wick is too long. OK so there's your lesson on candles.... |
