| I live in Ontario and know that the rabies shot is mandatory. In fact I have been told by both the breeder and my vet that by law my yorkie must have her rabies vaccination by 4 months. Well she just turned 4 months today. I really would prefer to put it off until she is older though since I am worried because she is only 2 1/2 lbs. My breeder has recommended speaking to the vet and seeing if he will give her a lower dosage (since as she put it there is enough in one dosage to vaccinate an elephant). Apparently her vet always does this with her dogs since they are so small. I am lucky, my vet is not one of these guys that is in it for the money and is always very kind and understanding. So in the morning I am going to call to book an appointment and when I go in I will discuss my concerns with him and tell him about my breeder's suggestion regarding the dosage. |

| This has been one of the funniest threads. And I loved the pic. Most of us show off the face, you just did the belly. And it looks just like my little girl. Oh, and I don't call it anything! LOL I also would love to see a "face" view. My Krystal got her final shots two weeks ago tomorrow (16 weeks)and her Rabies shot last Tuesday (17 weeks). She was 2.8 pounds on both visits. My vet would NOT give both shots together due to her size. But I honestly don't know the strength of the shot. She proudly wears her jewelry on her necklace. (that's what we call her rabies tag) Congrats on the new little girl, may you share lots of love. |
