constipated pup in TX? hi, our 11 month old yorkie has only had very small bowel movements in the last couple days. Normally he has healthy movements twice a day and goes almost on schedule when we take him out. yesterday and today he has been chewing at his bottom and just laying around (VERY unlike him) and when he poops very little comes out. he is just acting uncomfortable. anyone know what the problem could be? he eats regularly (Science diet) and only seldom do we give him human food. please let me know if you guys have any input. thanks!!!

Some people on this board have recommended pumpkin for diarrhea OR constipation. I haven't tried it though. One time I thought Rowdy had swallowed a paper clip (I'm not really sure whether he did or not) and the vet said to put mineral oil on his food - about 1/2 teaspoon full. I did that for 3 days and it sure made his poop "slick" and I would think that it would help with constipation.

Oh, one more thing. Is he drinking plenty of water? That will make his stools harder.
