| how do you get good photos facing backwards etc ok someone please tell me how do you get good photos facing backwards etc.. I see so many pics where the yorkie is facing backwards and looking over his/her shoulder... HOW DO YOU DO IT???? LOL... I can barely get one with them standing still and most of the time we just hold them for a pic? I would love to get some "free standing ones" to put on my site. Most of mine will just flop down to roll to their back to get their bellies rubbed. I am at my wits end trying to get some good standing pictures

| ! Well, the first thing I would say is to use a treat and train them just like you would any other trick. I'm still working on this myself but I can get Zoe to sit and stay and then look at me while I take a photo - then I give her a treat. Now I'm working on getting her to sit and stay and look backwards over her shoulder. You'll get it if you use a treat and work on it just 5 minutes every day. I'll bet it will only take a few days too! Good luck! |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Yes, treats are answer, I just use Joey's regular food, cause he's always hungry. Joey won this shirt from Tiger's Mom in the Halloween Contest, and I wanted a picture that displayed the shirt. I just had him sit and stay, and then walked behind him, and said the words "stay and treat", and he truned his head. You can also do a food guide with a treat in you hand and their heads will turn.

Thor's Human Donating Member | Treating is always a good way. I tell Thor to Sit, facing away from me and then I say his name in an excited voice. I must admit that I have many misfires though. I usually take a ton of pictures and only a couple good ones come out of the bunch.

| I use treats or a squeaky toy.

| I agree with everyone else. It's easier when they know the sit/stay command. Then use the treat to get them to look back.

| First off the dog has to be a bit calm when seeing the camera or they jump up and run toward you. I took a picture of a new member of our doggie play-day who is 4 months old. All I did is stoop right behind her and make a very soft noise, not to startle, but to get her to casually look around.
