| see if I try to save him again Widget was chewing on a piece of treat he got out of the everlasting ball. It was a piece that was big enough for him to choke on sooo I tried to get it out of his mouth. He bit down on what he thought was his treat and it was my finger. He went clear thru my finger nail to the other side of my finger. I had to hold back the tears. I am positive it was not intentional but next time I'll have to think hard before I try and save him from a possible accident. He probably would not have choked anyway. Stupid me. | Ouch! Make sure you put some antibiotic on that bite. Watch and make sure he's not getting possive of his treats. They can change in a minute from not caring to caring that your touching their treat. Hope your finger is ok. I had that done to me also that's how I know and yes, he ment it as I found out a couple day's later. Hope that's not your case. |

| finger I am sure my finger will be fine. thanks for all the concern. I will have to try and take things away from him to see if he is getting dominate. I haven't noticed this at all. He usually will drop anything I tell him to drop. You have me concerned now that he ment to bite me. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | YAH you will have to be careful. I know my mom's dog will growl and bite you if you try to take her treat away. We were going on a walk the other day, and Suzy (my mom's schanuzer) found a chicken bone, my mom tries to pull it out of her mouth and suzy bites down on her finger making it bleed!!! I wonder why certain dogs do that! I know my bella just lets go when i stick my fingers in her mouth to get something out.

| Ouch sounds painful. Just keep trying to take food and treats away from him. Then give it right back. They will learn trust. Hope your finger heaals fast. That hurts.

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | He may have actually been starting to choke and he got scared. Every once in a while, I'll take Tucker's toy or treat away from him, or put my fingers in the bowl while he's eating, to keep him from getting possessive.

Megan that's a smart thing to do. I do it also with Buddy, however, when he want's to get nasty he will. Dosen't matter that I have trained with him for four years and he shared his treats. When he feels whatever he's feeling no one can get near him or his treat. Not always but there are times he will threaten me and it drives me up the wall. At this point I walk away, it's better than hanging him by his ears. I can't understand it. There is so much I will not give him because of this behavior. He has come along way sharing for sure but there is still a tiny piece of Cujo in him. | |
