| Question about making bows ... for those of you who make your own or make to sell bows for the furkids, can you reccomend a place online to buy the cute little embellishments? (are these regular buttons?) I am waaay out in the boonies so no place to go and look in person but I would like to try my hand at making a few bows for my babies and I want to pretty them up like the gorgeous ones I've seen for sale by our talented YT'ers. Thanks In Advance!

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I don't mean to misrepresent myself...LOL I certainly do not know how to make those pretty bows but I think I know where they are getting those little trinkets. I've seen many of the same decorative trinkets in the jewelry making section of online craft stores. In a sense I suppose they are similiar to a button but they are also a bead. There are many online places to order such but a very cheap, discount place I have used for years (classroom incentive type things) is Oriental Trading. They are a very reputable company and everything I've ever gotten from them was as described. (Well, I will admit none of us ever liked their wooden pencils.) As in most catalogs of this type, be sure you take note of the size of the item. However, if you read the description well and take note of the quantity you're buying, you should be satisfied. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I just went to their site to look and I think you will be more satisfied if you look at their buttons rather than beads. They have some really cute pkgs. of decorative buttons. The bows I have bought from others have the decorations sewn on and I would not want it any other way. From the videos and written descriptions I've read about how endlessly the Yorkies try at first to rid themselves of their bows, I'd be afraid no glue would hold. Oriental Trading Company I have no reservations recommending this company to you at all. I've been ordering from them for probably the last 40 years with no problem whatsoever. |
