| ![]() I'm having trouble finding the info on that site about what tests the breeder should do. Her dogs aren't actual champions, but the mother is from champion lines. I know $1500 is a lot of money, but really here in Southern California I don't see many prices below that for females, and when I do they definitely don't look like they fit the breed standard or they don't have papers. I always had $1500 in my head as my limit. While I hoped to find something a little cheaper, I am willing to pay that if she is a cute, healthy puppy coming from a good home. I'm not saying I'm running out to buy this puppy no matter what, but after speaking to her on the phone she sounds very legit and concerned about where her puppies go. I'm going to see them tomorrow, and will assess the whole situation and get to see all her dogs. It is actually my first time going to see puppies as a prospective buyer, so any more suggestions about what I should look for or ask are welcome. I have read the threads about it and done research on websites and yorkie/dog books. |

| ![]() I think they are adorable. Yes, I can see where the ear set is a little off but you aren't looking to show or breed are you? If you're only looking for pet quality, it wouldn't concern me at all. I know that $1500 sounds like a lot to some but I have heard that CA prices are a little higher than other areas. You might be able to find some for less but if you have to travel a lot to get them or have them shipped, it might wind up being the same amount. I would definately go visit and see what you think after seeing them in person. That's just my opinion..... Good luck whatever you decide and I'll be looking forward to seeing photos of your new baby! ![]() |

| ![]() Sorry...another stupid question. I know there is something off looking about the ears, but what exactly is it? That they're low down on the head? That they're long? They're U shaped instead of V shaped? To skinny by the base? A combination? She has 2 females and 2 males so it will be good to know when I see them in person whether the ears of the whole litter are off, or if it's just the one, or what. I do think the ears come from the mother. Her ears look a little low. Tigger |

| ![]() As for the weight issue, I feel like you never truly know. Jackson's parents were 7 and 8 pounds full grown, and he is not 9 pounds at 5 months old and still growing! I've heard many stories like that.

| ![]() The ears look too large and are not within the standard. And thats ok if she is just going to be a pet but I think for that price $1500 you could get a Yorkie that fits the standard....There are Breeders on YT that have pups right now..Check out the Breeder section...Good Luck....Lissette |

| ![]() Actually I am not sure either of those pictures she sent me were the right puppy. Today I went to see her in person, and maybe it's just because I fell in love, but she's perfect to me. I think her ears were the cutest part of her, but she also had the best personality. I put a deposit so in less than 3 weeks she'll be all mine! |

| ![]() It isn't the size of the ears that make them look non-standard to me, it is the set of the ears. I'm hardly an expert on Yorkies, but I do expect their ears to pretty much stand straight up...the first thought that crossed my mind when I saw the first pic was "The ears are set funny." Of course, the pup could have had her ears cocked at an angle at just the moment the pic was taken...the only way to be sure is to actually see her in person. My Puddin' had teeny tiny ears at 6 weeks. She's now 10 weeks and they look like she could use them to fly! I expect she will grow into them...at least I hope she does! But a dog can't grow into (or out of) ears that set wrong on the head. Yorkie pups are adorable. Please don't let your heart take control of your head...be very careful in choosing your pup.

congrats on becoming a soon to be yorkie owner!! ![]() these babies will STEAL your heart!! ![]() i would DEFINITELY make sure that you have a GREAT health guarantee!!!!! i am TELLING you, so that you don't have heartache or a TON of $$$$ bills going out down the road (for things like: liver shunt/liver issues, luxating patellas, etc.) it's very true.. CA prices can be a lot pricier than other states.. BUT, if you are wanting a pet quality yorkie (that of course is bred to meet the standard) i would DEFINITLEY reseach some local show breeders and talk with them! ![]() ![]() whatever you decide!! good luck!! and congrats again!! xo.
