My Royal is almost 2 yrs old and just recently started panting and shaking at the same time. He was in the back seat of my car about two weeks ago and out of nowhere he started behaving this way. I kinda freaked out, got him home and he went pee. But now, everytime I put him in the car, he does this (and I know he doesn't have to tinkle) Does anyone know what happened for him to be behaving like this? He seems to hate the car now

My Jewels does that in the car also followed by vomiting sometimes. She is nervous in the car and it sounds like he is too

That's symptoms of car sickness. You might want to talk to your vet to see if you can do anything to help.

I thought maybe it wasn't car sickness since he has never done that for his 1 1/2 years of his life. I used to have him in the front seat next to me but it just isn't as safe.

my Gracie does that to... but its only in the Car... I think he is just scared... and not being able to be by you I think was the trigger

I think someone said that their baby did that but after they got a dog seat it stopped.

Cooper started doing this too, after over a year of riding in the car normally.
I always feel like it is because he is unsure of what is going on and he is scared. We just ignore him, because the more we coddle him the worse he acts. He just is not comfortable in the car at all, but he doesn't want to be left behind either

The main reason I think it is just nerves is because, alot of the time after we have had our outing and he understands we are going home, he doesn't do this.

Royal is unconsolable too, and gets worse if we try to hold him. I have been trying to ignore it but its so darn loud. And when I look back his eyes are huge and its almost like I don't recognize him. I wish he was that doggy that used to love to ride in the car. You know Ceasar Milan's office is a few blocks from me...wonder if I could get him to visit
