| Help...need a good harness for my dog with collapsed trachea My Yorkie mix has collapsed trachea...she is also not very smart and pulls constantly while I am walking her. I have tried a couple different harness' and the only one that didnt choke her was a mesh material that velcro closed. The first time I tried it it came off of her with in minutes and she ran away. Im lucky I was able to catch her but I never tried that again. It wasnt anything I did wrong...it was just the harness doesnt withstand pulling. Then I bought the typical harness from Petsmart that is leash like material...unfortunately part of that goes around her chest and she chokes when she pulls on it. So, is there a good sturdy, safe harness out there. I am willing to pay a good price for it if anyone knows of one. |

| hi, there are two different harnesses you can try. One is the step in harness. It doesn't go across the chest, they just step into it. The other is called a head collar. It's a gentle lead muzzle that trains them not to pull. The best one I found is made my Premier and it's called a Gentle Leader Headcollar. Part of it goes around their neck just for security reasons. The part that fits around their muzzle is where you connect your leash. It never pulls on their neck and it leads them from under their chin. They can still pant and drink water, etc. We just got a new lab, and we use this headcollar on him and it works great. You can get both harnesses at PetSmart. Good luck!
