Brooklyn never has. I'd die if he did! He was neutered at about 5-6 months, I think. |
Buddy was neutered at 6mo and has never marked in my home. I have had 3males over the years and they have never marked inside my house. Taking Buddy to friends homes who have dogs also he still does mark. I think it's just in them if they do. Buddy is trained to potty outdoors only. |

My Mom has always taken her dogs outside to go to the bathroom, and I can say, none of her dogs, males or females, have ever marked in anyone elses homes, they' are very well mannered Now my sons 1 1/2 year old yorkie is BAD. He's got a pee pad in the house, and he pees everywhere there and here. When he comes to my house, on goes the belly band. They have my little girl yorkie also, and I had her trained very well before they got her, so she always goes to the pee pad, but, they both go to school and work full time and never had the time to properly pee pad train the little guy |
I don't have a male, but I have a female that marks, both outdoors AND indoors. :( She was potty trained completely by about 5 mo. (accidents in other people's homes when she got busy and couldn't find her pad quick enough, but VERY, VERY few accidents at home). Around the time she turned 6 mo. old, she had "accidents" ON FURNITURE, once at my house where my cats like to lay where she can't get them, and once at a friend's house where her cat likes to lay!! Right after, I got her spayed, but she still marks....especially outdoors (and she'll even mark places SHE'S pottied before ), but she'll mark inside too, especially if we're at someone else's house and they have a dog.....I don't know if she's smelling that dog's accidents or what??? She has been pad trained, but we just started (a couple of weeks ago) outdoor training, and I'm REALLY hoping that solves the majority of our problems.....because it IS a problem!! :( |
Tucker is 5.5 months old, neutered at 4 months old, he is outside trained, started marking and cocking his leg to pee around 2 weeks before he was fixed. He never marked in the house but he would "mark" where my female peed outside. She would pee, he would pee over the top of it after he would of already gone. That all stopped along with the constant humping about a week after he was nuetered. He definitly was a early starter. :) |
Max is almost 2. It took us almost a year to potty train him but he does not mark in the house. Both of mine (girl & boy) potty outside, if given the chance, but mostly use potty pads. Both will mark outside when they go for walks but I think that is a natural thing for them to do. Max was neutered at approximately 7 months old. We waited for his teeth to come in so that everything could be done at the same time. |
Hot Rod is 18 mos, neutered at 6 1/2 mos. and has never marked inside the house. He does when we go outside though. He is pee pad trained also. He didn't start to lift his leg until about 9 mos old. |
Oliver is 2 1/2 years...he was neutered at 5 mos old and he pottys outside. He has never marked...even outside or on a walk...he still has yet to even lift his leg :) I guess i got lucky! |
I had a neutered male that never marked BUT when we got our second, who was a female, it was she that marked...not him. Multiples syndrome. Also, babysat for a tiny yorkie that was too small to kennel. After her 4 day visit, my male marked everywhere he smelled the visitor. Needless to say--no more babysitting. |
Winston is trained to go potty outside, neutered at 6 months...never "marks" or goes potty in the house...ever...since we brought him home at 8 weeks old. He does lift his leg to pee outside...so I guess that's marking...I always thought he was just peeing. What's the difference? Maybe that's a stupid question. |

All righty then...I guess he's just peeing. I wondered why he would be marking in his own back yard...where no other dogs ever go. |
Only have had baby boy Milo for 8days. I didn't even think about marking...Well, so far so good! |
I had a male that trained outside very easily. He was completely house broken by 4 months and neutered at 6 months. In his 13 years he never marked in the house and never had accidents until the last 8 weeks of his life. Chip had bladder cancer and when he did have mistakes inside it really upset him. |
Nikko is just over 6 months old now, and was neutered right at 6 months, almost to the day. He still squats to pee, even outdoors, and has never marked anything anywhere. I've still got my fingers crossed anyways, but I'm thinking we killed his testosterone in time. Lauren & Nikko |
