Tube feeding is extremely dangerous for those who are unfamiliar with this procedure. I would suggest going to a baby store and purchase a preemie baby bottle. Look for the nipple that is slightly flat on the top. I never had success with the bottles sold for pets and after much research stumbled upon an article written by a breeder who uses this method. Sure enough, the puppies I had to bottle feed loved it! You may think the nipple is too large but once that puppy latches on there is no stopping it. The flat nipple also allows a smooth flow that the puppy can control. Good luck. | |

| ![]() Just seeing this today. Congrats and so glad you got him to the Vet. Many years ago, my sisters poodle got run over and killed while pregnant. The Vet did a c section and we raised it from birth. We didn't know then what we know today but I remember giving him baby cereal and he grew to be a very healthy one, (I am not recommending this), just wanted to share so that you will not worry so much. The most important thing I remember is that he could not go outside. Good luck, keep us posted.

| ![]() I got my yorkie at 6 weeks and he had no teeth he is now 9 weeks and they are starting to come in. I talked to the vet and she said sometimes they don't come in until they are 8 weeks. Hope this helps. Hugs,

| ![]() Glad he's doing well!! I'm also glad it's warmed up for him. I know he won't be outside, but still... BTW, I'm in central Arkansas if you want to carpool over and do an "intervention" on them! You know, I bought my Molly from what I guess might be called a back yard breeder. But at least the person I bought her from cared about the health and breeding of her dogs, even offering to help out when she was a little sick. I was scared enough with a 10 week old puppy. I would be a nervous wreck with a 5 week old! I'm glad he has such a caring family! |

| ![]() he seems to be getting stronger. he is going to the bathroom on his own. he still wont take the bottle. we are going to try to get him to eat soft food...hopefully he'll take that. the tube feeding is going pretty good. the vet showed me how to do it and i watched some videos on it and researched about it and how to know when it's going down the wrong tube...we're doing good! he slept through the entire night last night. he is starting to stand and walk extremely better than two days ago...the only thing that is keeping him from going is his little nails...need to clip them. thanks for all your help and concern. I'm just glad i got him and not some random who would have let him die or put him in a shelter. ps...this is Leah...the girlfriend. |
