| well how i personally did it was. I set up my laptop (macbook) that has a built in cam. (i also remote desktop into the macbook if there are any problems) I put a program called sightspeed on the macbook and set it to auto pick up, its sorta like skype, a video chat program. I call in using sightspeed at work and boom there they are!!! You have to have a speedy internet tho or it will look very bad. |

| I have been seriously considering this. Webcams aren't very expensive and are relatively easy to set up, so that wouldn't be an issue. I just wonder if the Gov't network I have to use at work would allow me to log into the webcam and view. There are so many restrictions on this network...I'm surprised I can even get to YT and read and post!

| There are many programs out there that can allow you to get out to see a webcam... There is a program called VNC (not the mot secure program) to control your desktop at home. VNC allows you to set whatever ports you want so then it is just a case of finding one the governement is not blocking. Otherwise some software can turn your desktop into a "Webcam Server" and all you need is a web browser with java to view your webcam. |

| That is a great idea actually. I never really thought of that I'm gone 8 hours a day monday through friday so it would be so helpful just to keep and eye on her to make sure shes not doing anything she shouldn't be. And of course I have my brothers and sisters take her out every two to three hours.

| What all would you need to do this? A webcam obviously. Are a computer and internet needed both at home and work? I don't have internet at home right now, but I think this is a great idea!
