| ♥ Catherine My Love ♥ Donating Member | Just FYI about the DNA kits available on AKC's website - those are for DNA profiling ONLY (for the frequently used Sires program)> Akc just runs the DNA and stores it, they don't do anything with it unless there is an audit or complaint. Here is the info from the AKC for the Customer DNA Complaint program: Effective July 1, 2002: Any AKC customer who questions the recorded parentage of a dog or litter may submit a complaint in writing to the AKC requesting DNA testing. The complaint must be accompanied by a deposit of $500.00. If the allegation is sustained the deposit is returned. If the allegation is not sustained, the deposit is forfeited and becomes the property of The American Kennel Club. In cases where parentage is shown to be incorrect, AKC will work with customers to correct the registrations of dogs and litters when possible. The responsible parties will be billed for the DNA processing costs and registration correction fees. Registration services will be placed on hold until payment is made. When corrections cannot be made, the necessary registrations will be converted to Conditional Registration. The AKC disciplinary procedures will apply to exclusions discovered as a result of this policy

| Oh gosh, she is adorable! She does look a bit like a chihuahau, but who knows! Either way, she is absolutely adorable! It is amazing how quickly these little furry creatures can become a member of the family! |

You say you have papers, but are they with the AKC? Since the AKC has suspended many breeders, they have turned to alternative registries, and I believe the other registries are worthless. All the breeder has to do is say that the breeding dogs are purebred, no proof required. The dog's parents could have looked like yorkies, and still have been mixed; the offspring is often different looking from the parents when this happens. Your cousin's description of the parent's hair, "father had long silky type haired and the mother had a more of a smooth hair," is confusing, but it sounds like the mother might also have short hair, and this could be the Chihuahua mix. Yorkies should have long, silky, smooth hair. Chihuahua's don't have the ability to grow long hair like yorkies, and although many yorkie owners keep the coats short, this is done by haircuts, not the inability to grow long hair.

| Yorkie Yakker | I don't even think he knows what he's talking about. I believe the the hair on both dogs was short because they were cut. The explanation given was that from the breeder. Actually, the mother and father are her pets and they had a litter. The papers are AKC. I didn't send them off yet because I was not sure , because of the look. She was a gift so I don't know all of the story just what he told me, and from what I gathered over the phone from the breeder. I decided to keep her because she already stole my heart. I was just concerned about people breeding these dogs and falsifying information for money. |

| Besides her ears she looks all yorkie to me. I think she'll grow into her ears. I'd ask the vet if I were you. don't be embarrassed! Nothing is embarrassing about gaining knowledge! She is absolutely adorable!

| She looks so sweet! (but definitely looks like a "Chorkie" to me). Our boy once had bigger ears, but his hair was thicker at 8 weeks: |

| he is absolutely a cutie. he does look that he's crossed with chi., from the hair, ear and nose. but since he's still a young puppy, its really hard to tell unless DNA testing is performed. does he shed at all? since yorkies don't shed and chihuahuas do, I would be more suspicious if he does shed on a regular basis!

| 100% yorkie. I have had one come out of my litters that look just like her and I believe you can see her on my page! I never had the mother YORKIE around any male besides my male yorkie while she was in heat and you can see how she turned out. Tori will be 2 yrs this year and grew into her hair. Congrats! any questions feel free to pm if you have questions.
