omg how sweet! Kandi is very smart! Well the only thing i can think of right now is Teddy will poop in the bathroom sometimes and London is a poop eater but yesterday there was poop on the pads that sophie had just done and someone knocked on the bell then, so they all went running to the door to bark. London saw our attention was away and ran to eat the poop, luckily my bf saw her and caught her on time and she went running lol they are so sneaky. Also when the girls fight at dinner time Teddy will take that opportunity and try to steal their food, cause we are too occupied stopping them |
I forgot one more Roxy talent - She will smile & show all her teeth when you ask her to :D - hence, yorkiesmiles ;) She also will do what I call her Elvis snarl on command  |
Aww, that's soo cute! I'd love to have seen that! :) |
thats so funny because our little gracie wears clothes ever day as well and in the morning if im not ready before her ,she will go to the basket and bring me one of her coats ,if i ignore her she will bark until i put it on .and if mikey sees me coming with his coat he runs and hides |
Well Precious I would say is smart when she wants to be! If we tell her to go get a particular toy she knows which one we mean...go get your purse, go get your baby, go get your butterfly those type of things. As for commands she only sits & comes if and only if we say her name if we say come she won't but if we say come here baby girl Precious shes like speedy gonzalez! She cannot get stay for the life of her if we make her stay she will sit wiggling like a worm & schooches nearer & nearer. As for clothes she has her preferences like she runs away from itchy sweaters but wiggles like a loony bird if she LOVES something (like sweatshirts & Tshirts) But to go pick out warm jammies that's something!!!!!!!!!!!! Your little one is a genius! MOMMY OF PRECIOUS:aimeeyork |

That is SO AWESOME she went and picked out her jammies!! Riot is smart when it comes to figuring out ways to get out of "jail" and ways to get attention. Sometimes he's smart when it comes to pottying on his pads, other times not. He will be in the living room playing with us, go RACING into the mud room and poop on his pad, come back out and play for 2 minutes and pee on the carpet  Other days he has no accidents at all. I guess that's better than I could have ever hoped for considering we've only had him a week today! Haven't really tried much training yet...still doesn't like any treats we've offered him but my bf had a piece of cheese he wanted and her tried to get him to sit by putting it by his nose and moving it back over his head and he just kind of arched is neck as far as it would go until he stood up on his back legs then fell over. |

I'm so glad to hear that! Sometimes I will tell someone some of the brilliant things she has done and they just look at my like "yeah right". Had me thinking that maybe all dogs do that and I'm so enamored with her that I think everything she does is amazing. For example when she rang her potting bell the first time I was sooo excited. Housebreaking her has not been bad at all so far.(don't worry, I'm prepared for setbacks) When I talk to her she actually looks into my eyes and tilts her little head like she's thinking. She's still a baby and has lots to learn but she really is grasping it. There are so many little works I say to her that she just gets like, breakfast, outside, the kids are coming!, etc. Of course with intelligence comes some ornery little acts like when she knows she has something she shouldn't she faces away from me and looks at me out of the corner of her eye to see if she's been caught! Well I could go on and on but I won't bore you anymore!:luvu: |
Muffy will do almost the same thing. If it to cold out she will not go outside and will run to her room get her jacket and bring it to me. Only after I put it on her will she go outside. She will also go get her jacket if I am getting ready to go somewhere. They are so smart. People will see them dressed in there clothes and say those poor dogs, if they only knew. |
OMG that is so cute*!@ riley did something similar the other night.. i leave their fleece blankets in their beds so when they arent sleeping with us they usually sleep on them. well my boyfriend and i were in the living room (i have wood floors in my apartment so they get cold) and riley sees that we're on the couch watching tv so he goes in the bedroom and grabs his fleece blanket by his teeth, drags it into the living room and then lays down on it! we hardly noticed until we heard something dragging on the floor.. i wish i wouldve gotten it on video or something, he's so smart! he also knows which toy to fetch even if i throw it into a pile of toys.. he'll sniff each one until he gets the right one. he has some toys that look identical and he knows which one is which. madison on the other hand... well  |
That is so cute! No matter how cold my two are they would NEVER bring some sweaters to me... they hate them! lol Chip amazes me. Anytime we taught him a trick - not like sit or anything, things like shake and all that - he would pretend like he wouldn't get it. I remember teaching him shake. I think I grabbed his paw, said "shake", and rewarded him about 100 times in 15 minutes and he just looked at me like I was stupid. He was so young at the time and I figured it would take awhile longer for him to get it and gave up for about two weeks. I went to work with him again on simple commands like "sit" and "down" and I picked up the treats... I didn't even say one word and he immediately lifted his paw up for me to grab. He got it!!!! Our trainer always told us that when teaching tricks to watch for little things that your dog naturally does and you can turn it into a command. When we brought Smokey home, I noticed that when he wanted attention he would stand on his hind legs and almost "dance". I decided to start teaching him this. I never once even tried the command on Chip, but one day I pulled out the treats to work on Smokey's dance and some things with Chip, and Chip stood up on his hind legs and "danced" just like I had taught Smokey. He learned by watching! Just last week I was trying to teach Smokey "crawl" and he wasn't getting what I wanted him to do, so I decided to try it on Chip to see if he could get it. He wasn't getting it either, so I went back to Smokey and he did exactly what I wanted him to do. It was almost like a light bulb went off for both of them because then Chip did it too. It took 10 minutes to train both of them how to "crawl". |
Judy, that's so cute! What little smarties they are!! I know what you mean about the cold/hot situation. It's crazy isn't it? Kandi's mom gets cold, too. I put an insulated sweat shirt (for humans) with the sleeves cut off and the sleeve holes sewn up in her kennel. If it gets too cold she can crawl inside of it like her own little snuggle sack. If it is too warm she can lay on top of it. It works pretty well. By the way, I think we all need to see more pictures of Gizmo and Kandi...:aimeeyork |

Angel, What a little smartie Muffy is!! They really do like clothes don't they? Especially if it's cold. I know if I put clothes on one of my girls the other one will be jumping up and down on my leg until I put something on her as well. We wouldn't mind if you posted more pictures of Muffy and Buddy either...:D |
