We have 3 girls and one boy and Maximus is the lover boy who literally begs to be dressed up... When I put the sweaters on our little girls b/c they might get cold he comes over and looks at his sweater and stands there with his big brown eyes like 'and how about me, mommy?' he is much bigger and his coat is thicker and he soon starts to pant but he needs his sweater on... LOL! He is also the only one that really loves his top knot... go figure... | |

| ♥ Mama's Boy ♥ Donating Member | I vote Boy!! They are just soo sweet and loveable! The only thing is that we waited to long to get him neutered and now he loves to lift him leg and pee on everything, not so much in the house but when we go on walks. I like having a boy but I wish I had a girl too because there so many more options for cute clothes but then again if he was a girl I would be spending more money on clothes for him so its a good thing! lol I have never had a girl dog before only 2 boys...so I don't think I am much help, but best of luck to you..I do know that boy yorkies are cheaper but I don't know if that matters to you or not. |

| I had a male growing up and he only loved women. He would let you do anything to him; carry him around on his back, dress him up, etc. Now I have a female and she's more skittish than he was. I think it was either due to poor breeding or skittish parents. So she doesn't let me do as many "things" to her, but she's getting better as she's only 8 months. Also, she only likes me. Women mostly if I'm not around, but if I'm gone and my husband is here she will sleep and hide till I get home. I just think it's a combination of the dog's personality, breeding and parents, and how the men and women in it's life treat her. Personally I'd take either one! Just pick a good breeder and find a face and personality that suits you!

| I think neutured males make the best little pets! But you have to get them neutured before they know that they are boys LOL! I got Tucker neutured at 6 months and some vets will do it earlier than that. Tucker squats to pee, and never ever marks. I don't have any problems with a smelly belly because he squats, but I also keep his belly shaved. You can't tell it unless you flip him over on his back. Because of all this, he is able to keep a full coat no problems. He also gets dressed up and wears a top knot! See my avatar. He is is one of the sweetest little dogs! He's a lover and a snuggler and only wants to please. I would say that he is more bonded to me, but still adores my husband and daughter. He is much calmer than my sister's girl and while she loves to cuddle, she's a bit moody and it's definatly on her terms. I vote boy as long as you neuter him as early as possible. |

P.S. No disrespect intended to the males - it's just that I've had much better luck with females - dogs, cats, miniature horses, etc. Of course, my husband is a male - but that's another story

| Its pink for me, too!! When we picked Bailey (or rather she picked me?), she snuggled right up in the nook of my neck - she went home with us immediately!! I was concerned about her bonding with my hubby, too. Bailey's a snuggle bug, obedient and the best dog EVER!! Yes, there are some independent moments, but she is a yorkie after all!! I wouldn't have it any other way. She brings toys and bones to my lap to play and she only naps in my lap. However, hubby's lap will do when I'm not home...lol. Its kinda funny, when we (me and hubby) get ready for bed... hubby crawls in first and Bailey will snuggle with him - but as soon as I get into bed (some 20 minutes later) she immediately comes over to snuggle with me and stays with me for the entire night. Some part of her body has to be touching me at all times throughout the night. She's all mine and there's no question about it!
