Think this dog is pure bred?

AWww, he looks like a little wolf! I'm undecided as to whether he's purebred or not. I guess you'll be able to tell as he grows up hey? Enjoy him, he's adorable!

he looks mixed to me, but im not an expert maybe he really is pure bred, but if you wanted a pure bred don't take him unless you really fall in love with him and he is the perfect fit. If it were me I wouldnt even go any further because I know I'd want a pure bred AND a perfect fit, and if I ended up playing with him and he grew on me I'd have the perfect fit but not the Yorkie I wanted...

From what I have read CKC registers mixes as well. Personally I think the lady was ripped off. Unfortunately it's something that happens often. She probably knows he might be mixed but doesnt wanna admit to anyone (or herself) that was ripped off and basically lied to..... Whatever decision you make.... GOOD LUCK

She has shorter, very soft hair, but grows very slow. Even her nails grow slow, have only trimmed them once. She is also 4 1/2 months old and weighs 29 oz and has held that weight for the past month.

While her brothers, on the other hand, have a much thicker, coat and is still really soft but totally different texture than she has; and while she will be way under the standard weight, they s/b within or close. I think her coat even looks a little shorter than his. Does this help with comparison as far as "if it looks like a real yorkie?"

I think he's adorable, and I was wondering how he's doing? Getting along with the family? And if he's a little keeper? Maybe? He is pretty adorable.

Wow. They look just alike! I can't get over the resemblance. So he must be pure bred. Hmm...I'm assuming that you breed your dogs to the standard... so he isn't like this because he wasn't bred to the standard. Do you have any predictions on how their hair will grow? I would love for him to look like a traditional yorkie, ya know? The hair on his face is pretty thin but his body does have some hair that has length to it.

We still have him in our home. He is a cutie. We are just trying to make the best decision for our family. We will make our decision by the end of the week.

Do yorkies go through them? I know Pomeranians do and Adorable fluffballs as pups, homely little scruffies from about 3-7 months and then usually by 1 year they look fantastic.... Just another thought on why he might be a little thin...

I just wanted to update you all today to say that we took the puppy back today. My husband and I have really mixed emotions. We think he was SO adorable, but he just wasn't the right fit for our family. Our search continues...

Yes he looks purebred to me he just has a haircut. Remember 7 mths is still a puppy and not every puppy meets breed standard. I have a 7 mth old male that is still solid black in the body with tan legs and feet and tan and black in the face. Unless you are looking for a yorkie to show they don't have to meet the standards. Yorkies are cute regardless!!! Have you picked him up for the trial period? How is it working? What's the price they are asking? Even if he does not meet standards for a show dog, Yorkie puppies still are relatively expensive.

I mentioned earlier that we did return him. It was a very hard decision. My husband and I decided beforehand that what is most important is our family (3 cats and Molly) and if it was going to be too hard on any of them, we would return him (we had an agreement from the family we bought him from). My husband and I decided that Molly and the cats will do better with another adult dog and not a puppy. Our cats were scared beyond belief of the puppy and refused to come out of hiding and their demeaners were completely different. They bought the puppy from a breeder for $300 and so that is what they are selling him for, which is a great deal. So if anyone here is wanting a puppy, he really is great.. and SOOOO cute!
