Need Help with Pad/Potty Training Does anyone have any good idea's for potty training?? Gretzky came yesterday and has yet to go potty outside or on the piddle pads. Once he was close to the pad but i think it was just a coincidence! I understand its only his second day here so he's still confused but I'd like to get a jump start on this if there are any good tricks! With that said Gretzky is ADORABLE! It was love at first sight and we couldn't ask for a better dog, minus doing his dutties on my carpet. We are so happy to have him here! Thanks for your help! Kristen and Gretzky

welcome to yt! Consistancy is key! take him to his potty place, after waking up, eating, playing and every couple hours inbetween potties. Praise him when he goes where you want him too. and ( I learned this through a pro trainer) don't let him see you clean up the accidents. and don't yell or make a big deal when they don't go where you want them too. Good luck, it takes a while for these lil ones to get the hang of it....

potty My puppy is new too and can only share what we are doing. I take him out first thing in the morning and I don't talk until he pees. When he is peeing I say PEE. Then I praise him and we go back in. I also wipe him off when we go in with the pee pad. So, inside he has started using the pee pads which is good when it is raining or when I am sick. ha! I hung a bell by the back door and before I take him out I make him ring the bell before going out. I take him out soon as he wakes up, after eating or about every 30 minutes if he is awake. He sleeps thru the night (with me) with no accidents. I am crossing my fingers that this keeps us. HOpe this helps! Patience! Good luck, Karen
