| premie baby clothes for your yorkie Has anybody every consider buying premie baby clothes for your yorkie? I may sound crazy but I purchased a few tanktops that was clearance the other day. They were so cute and they look just like dog clothes so why not right? What do you guys think?

My little Shadow Donating YT Member | I think it's a Wonderful idea!! I used baby onsies when Bella was spayed. I'm always looking in the baby section for things. One of Bella's favorite blankets came from the baby section!!

YT 2000 Club Member | I use Preemie baby jackets that I found at wall mart for $3.99. Preemie size fits Yumi Yasha perfect ( she is 4 pounds 9 ounces ) but they are to big for Jeter ( he is 2 pounds 12 ounces) I put his step in harness over the jacket to help hold it in place I got Axl a new born size and that fits him he is 8 pounds. Also if you have a sewing machine then you can alter the preemie dresses into very cute doggy dresses

| Nope. But I've went to the toy department where they have the toy dogs for little girls (with the purses, brushes, and accessories) and looked at the little "toy dog clothes" there!

How cute!! So does the jacket fit your girl even though the arms are out a little different? I went to walmart today and bought some sweaters for only 2.50 but I'm not sure if its going to fit my girl. Shes not going to be tiny like your Jeter so I think she'll be able to fit it. Whenever I go to stores that has baby clothes/stuff I always go and look for my libbie. Its funny cause it makes my BF feel all weird about it. . Especially if we run into somebody we know - they're going to think I'm expecting! LOL . . . and I've had a few people ask me and I say "YES" I'm expecting my puppy on March 20th!

| YEP! I buy preemie clothes at Walmart (specially the little dresses) and make them into clothes for Teddi. This is kind of hard to see in this pic but she is wearing a little preemie dress (I just had to have it taken in but the length is perfect - it's all messed up in the pic but it is the perfect length which is about 9")

| My sister and I have used baby clothes for our furbutts too...We still use onesies...just so there are NO accidents on our floors...and we've also gone shopping at thrift stores to purchase infant clothing.. We have also altered clothing to fit our babies.. I even purchased a full pj's for like 1.00 and altered it to fit Daizy...and it's absolutely adorable!! Here is a pic of her in a onesie (having a bad hair day) and in a babies pajamas.... I think the size was newborn..I just had to cut the legs shorter..and then I just gathered them to make it look like the front feet.

| I've thought of doing this too BUT I don't know what size to get! Chip is about 7 lbs and Smokey is 13. So maybe a newborn size for Chippy and 6-9 month for Smokey?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Yes, I wanted to take a special Christmas pictures with Joey, but it was hard to find Christmas PJ's in preemie, so we got the newborn size. I shrunk the heck out of them and sewed the sides an inch and made a place for his tail. Since they were just for the picture, I didn't want traditional dog pj's, but you could easily convert them. Here's a picture.

| WOW! Thanks so much for sharing such wonderful ideas. My only problem is I can't sew. LuLu weighs 4 1/4 lbs. Has anyone ever purchased baby clothes that they didn't have to alter for this size?

Premie might work without any alterations, but don't forget the good old fashion way of shrinking.
